The weather prospects for the fourth T20I look bright, and we should get a full game.

  • With the third match abandoned, Canada can now only draw the series.
  • Corey Anderson hasn’t featured in the series yet, but with just two matches to go, USA will be tempted to give the attacking all-rounder a shot.
  • Canada’s Aaron Johnson has looked in fluent touch and can be their impact player in this match.

We are backing USA to clinch the series in the fourth T20I.

The third T20I between USA and Canada due to rain and wet field conditions. The scoreline remains 2-0 in favor of the hosts, USA. The fourth match of the series is scheduled for tomorrow at the Prairie View Cricket Complex. USA will be looking to seal the deal here itself while Canada can now only hope to draw the series.

United States of America Preview

Two back-to-back triumphs for USA – one while chasing and the other while defending – has meant that they are now leading the series 2-0.

Steven Taylor, Andries Gous, and skipper Monank Patel led the batting attack for the USA in the second T20I, each scoring a brilliant half-century. Their efforts helped the team score a total of 230 runs, resulting in a commanding 31-run win at Prairie View.

After being asked to bat first, USA, thanks to openers Taylor and Monank, scored 104 runs in just 51 balls. Taylor began as the aggressor, hitting seven fours and three sixes in a quick 25-ball 54. Despite the setback, USA continued its momentum, with Gous and Monank scoring amazing half-centuries for the second game in a row. Monank's blistering innings comprised 10 boundaries and two maximums in his 68 off 35 balls, while Gous delivered a quick 35-ball 57 with three fours and four sixes.

Then Aaron Jones provided a late charge, blasting four soaring sixes in his 20-ball 34, bringing the team's total to over 200 runs.

Seven USA bowlers made breakthroughs in the second T20I, including Saurabh Netravalkar, Shadley van Schalkwyk, and Harmeet Singh, who each took two wickets. Netravalkar and Schalkwyk have been their most effective bowlers this series, and we expect them to keep it up.

United States of America Predicted Playing XI:

Steven Taylor, Aaron Jones, Andries Gous, Gajanand Singh, Milind Kumar/Corey Anderson, Monank Patel (c & wk), Harmeet Singh, Shadley van Schalkwyk, Jasdeep Singh, Saurabh Netravalkar, Nosthush Kenjige

Canada Preview

Despite a valiant effort with the bat in the second match, Canada fell short, managing to score 199 runs. Aaron Johnson, the opening batsman, led the charge with a rapid 74 off just 40 balls. Unfortunately, their efforts were not enough to match the formidable total posted by the hosts, who finished with 230 runs on the board.

Although Canada started well with a 112 for 1 in the first 11 overs, the quick departures of Johnson (74) and Pargat Singh (27) shifted the game's dynamics significantly in favor of USA. Despite periodic flashes of brilliance, particularly from Harsh Thaker (34* off 17 balls), USA maintained steady dominance throughout the match.

Aaron Johnson, who has 438 runs in his previous ten outings at a strike rate of over 180, is expected to continue his good form in the fourth match. All-rounder Harsh Thaker is another player we believe will put up a strong performance.

Canada's bowling performance has been a concern throughout this series. Considering the circumstances, it might be beneficial to include Nikhil Dutta in the lineup for the fourth T20I. Dutta, an off-spinner, has showcased promising form, claiming 12 wickets in his recent 8 matches, maintaining an impressive economy rate of 6.05.

Canada Predicted Playing XI:

Aaron Johnson, Srimantha Wijeyeratne (wk), Pargat Singh, Navneet Dhaliwal, Harsh Thaker, Nicholas Kirton, Dilpreet Singh, Saad Bin Zafar (c), Rishiv Ragav Joshi, Dillon Heyliger, Udhaya Bhagwan/ Nikhil Dutta

Weather Conditions

The playing conditions at the Prairie View Cricket Complex have proven conducive to T20 cricket. In the first match, the pitch favored the bowlers, whereas the following game saw a surface highly favorable to batters. We believe the track in the fourth T20I will provide some assistance to the bowlers. The dampness from yesterday might make the ball grip the surface a little, and batting might be difficult in the middle overs.

The weather forecast, thankfully, is clear for tomorrow. The skies will be clear, and the temperature will be warm.

USA vs CAN Pitch Report

The par score for this match should be around 180-190. The team batting first will have to target a score of around 200, if the pitch is similar to the one used in the second T20I.

Toss: To Bat

Now that the series stands at 2-0 with two matches to go, both teams are likely to look for the safe option and bat first. That gives them the perfect opportunity to pile on a huge score and bat the opposition out of the game.

With three wins from five encounters, the USA currently leads Canada in their T20I head-to-head matchups. With the top three players from USA in excellent form, they are the odds-on favorites to win the series in the fourth T20I. Canada will have to bring their A-game to keep the series alive. We expect the hosts to dominate this encounter as well.

We are backing USA to clinch the series in the fourth T20I.
