Carlos Brathwaite’s team put up a tremendous performance with the bat in the last game as they defeated the Northamptonshire Steelbacks by 4 wickets. It was batting at its best the team as they chased a score of 211 runs and won it with seven balls to spare. They had lost against the Rapids earlier in the season and Brathwaite shall look to settle scores with a strong performance in this game.  

Paul Stirling and Robert Yates missed out in the last game and this pair shall look to deliver a good start here. The middle-order looks strong for the side as Adam Hose and Alex Davies are in good form and they shall look to add quick runs with Sam Hain in this game. In Brathwaite they have one of the best finishers in the game and he would look to add quick runs with Chris Benjamin who played a swashbuckling knock in the last game.  

Danny Briggs and Olly Stone shall need to bowl tight lines here as they leaked runs in the last game. Craig Miles, Jacob Lintott, and Brathwaite are experienced bowlers, and they must come up with good performances and take advantage of the conditions. The Rapids have good firepower with the bat and Bears’ bowlers must be up to the challenge.

Worcestershire Preview

The agony continues for Colin Munro’s side in a disastrous season. They lost the last game against Yorkshire Vikings by 5 wickets where their batsmen and bowlers failed to put up a challenge. The side has won only once in the tournament, and they are playing for their pride. Munro shall like to see a more spirited effort from his players as they go into this important contest.  

Brett D’Oliveira and Ed Pollock have struggled with a string of poor scores, and they will have to come up with a better show here. Munro needs to lead from the front in the middle order and add runs with Jake Libby and Ed Barnard. Kashif Ali is playing well in the lower middle order and the side would need runs from him, Dwayne Bravo, and Gareth Roderick in this important game  

Ed Barnard and Mitchell Terry Stanley shall have to deliver a good start to the side with the new ball. Their opponents have some of the best hitters in the game and the side would need Patrick Brown and Bravo to keep the scoring rate under check in the middle overs of the game. Josh Baker shall need to do well in the supporting role for the side to win this game.

The skies over Birmingham would be cloudy and we might see rain during the game.  The batting conditions are expected to be good as the wicket is flat, but bowlers would get some assistance due to the conditions. The side batting first would need to put up a minimum of 170 runs on the board.

Venue Details

Edgbaston, Birmingham offers a lot of assistance to the fast bowlers early on, but it is also a good batting surface as the ball comes onto the bat nicely and allows batsmen to score runs easily. Spinners find the conditions tough as there isn’t much on the surface for them.
