Initially there was not much interest in the UAE Women's tour of Zimbabwe but following a 2-2 draw in the ODI leg of the tour, there are plenty of eyes on the two-match T20I series.
There is also plenty of interest in this contest due to the contrasting form of both teams in this format. Yes, Zimbabwe have won their last five matches, but they were all in the Women's T20 World Cup Africa Region Division and they can expect a mich tougher contest against UAE Women who have won the last two and three of the last five T20 meetings!
Queens Sports Club Bulawayo is an appropriate venue for a game like this which is likely to show off the skills available on both sides and both sets of players, not to mention the watching public around the globe are excited to see it begin.
This is Zimbabwe Women's first game in the T20I format since they thrashed Namibia Women by nine wickets with 21 balls remaining to win the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Region Division One Qualifier last month in Windhoek.
Although the team is not at the same standard as those operating in the current Women's World Cup in India, they are clearly the best of the rest and they will be confident of defeating UAE Women on home soil.
With the ball, we expect the duo of Josephine Nkomo and Nyasha Gwanzura to be the main dangers for UAE Women's batters.
And when the hosts are batting, the opening pair of Kelis Ndhlovu and keeper-batter Modester Mupachikwa are likely to take some stopping on home turf.
Modester Mupachikwa (wk), Kelis Ndhlovu, Loreen Tshuma, Josephine Nkomo, Nomvelo Sibanda, Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano (c), Nyasha Gwanzura, Francisca Chipare, Chiedza Dhururu, Lindokuhle Mabhero, Beloved Biza
This is the first time that UAE Women have played T20I cricket since they lost by five wickets with three balls remaining to Nepal Women in the Super Three during May.
One of the main issues in that game for Esha Oza's side was the lack of runs from numbers five and below and we expect the top order, followed by numbers three and four, to be the key batters in this opening T20I.
UAE Women have plenty of depth in their bowling attack and they should have gained some valuable local knowledge from the WODI series last week.
We expect Suraksha Kotte to be the most accurate and penetrative of the bowling attack.
Esha Oza (c), Theertha Satish (wk), Lavanya Keny, Heena Hotchandani, Michelle Botha, Udeni Dona, Keziah Miriam Sabin, Vaishnave Mahesh, Athige Silva, Katie Thompson, Suraksha Kotte
It promises to be another beautiful day in Bulawayo on Sunday with the sun shining throughout the morning of this game. Expect the temperature to get up to the mid-20s in this match.
The Queens Sports Club has a vast outfield and there will be plenty of opportunity for threes as well as boundaries. Whoever bats first will be looking for 160+ in their innings.
With the switch in formats, there may be a little uncertainty in terms of knowing how much to attack in this game. Therefore we predict that both teams will choose to bowl first.
