The win couldn’t have come at a better time for the Blues, ending a patch where they had lost three of five and failed to score in the previous two. 

The result also lifted the Sky Blues from fifth to second, while the return of Rhys Youlley from a two-game suspension adds another timely boost for the Sky Blues ahead of the weekend fixture. 

Sydney’s defence has been one of their biggest strengths this season, but it faces a stern test against a free-scoring opponent. Thus, the spotlight will fall on goalkeeper Harrison Devenish-Meares, who boasts a league-best 79.1% save rate and six clean sheets.
