Already we can see that this is a different Arsenal side.

Mikel Arteta’s men suddenly look focused, confident and ready to make a sustained challenge at the top of the table.

Whether they will be in the top two at the end of the season remains to be seen. The most likely scenario is that they will challenge for fourth spot, behind City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

However, this is a start that will have pleased the manager, not least the fans who have been calling out for a quality side for so long.

Bournemouth have made a mixed start to life back in the Premier League. Scott Parker’s men were victorious in their first game of the season against Aston Villa, although were unsurprisingly beaten by Manchester City last weekend.

This is another tough game for the south coast club and one they are not expected to win.

AFC Bournemouth Preview

Reasons to be cheerful:

Secured a confident win against Villa

Unbeaten in their last 11 home games

Reasons to be fearful:

     Poor record against Arsenal

Two big opponents back-to-back is tough

Bournemouth will never be expected to earn points against teams like Manchester City or Arsenal.

They lost 4-0 to City last weekend, and they could suffer a similar result here if Arsenal continue their great form.

The good news for the Cherries is that they have gone unbeaten across 11 home games, stretching back to last season. They have made their home ground a fortress and will try to make things difficult for Arsenal.

They will hope that, by getting City and Arsenal out of the way early on in the season, they can concentrate on games in which they will expect to claim something from.

Unfortunately, Liverpool are up next, but that is followed by games against Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Brighton.

The odds are heavily against them here, but stranger things have happened and Scott Parker will know the value of frustrating Arsenal as much as possible.

Star Man – Kieffer Moore

Arsenal have improved at the back, but the tall and physical Moore can cause them problems if they can get the ball into him.

Arsenal FC Preview

Reasons to be cheerful

Perfect start to the new season

Six goals scored is the joint-best in the league so far

Reasons to be fearful

Consistency has been a problem for Arsenal under Arteta

Conceding two goals against Leicester shows defensive weakness

Arsenal are on a mission to finally crack the top four this season.

If they can secure a higher position, for example, their current 2nd place, then all the better. However, to bring Champions League football back to the Emirates is their number one goal.

They have started brilliantly, especially in attack. Gabriel Jesus has looked like one of the signings of the season already, while bringing William Saliba back from loaning him out looks inspired.

If they can keep this up, confidence will continue to build around the club.

They have a great chance of continuing their run here, considering they have won seven of their 10 league meetings against Bournemouth.

The Gunners must avoid complacency, especially away at a ground where Bournemouth haven’t lost for some time.

Star Man – Gabriel Jesus

Scored his first goal for Arsenal last weekend, and he’ll score plenty more this season. With the free-flowing way in which Arsenal play, his style is perfectly suited.

     Arsenal will dominate possession

Bournemouth could struggle to press high up the pitch

If Arsenal keep a clean sheet, they’ll win

Arsenal’s main concern here will be keeping things tight at the back.

They know they have the firepower to blast through Bournemouth’s defence in a similar way that Manchester City did last weekend.

If they avoid conceding, they’ll win the game.
