BBL 2024-25 - Young Players to Watch Out

A new season of Big Bash League is about to go on the floors. BBL 2024-25 will begin on 15th December and Perth Scorchers will meet Melbourne Stars at the Optus Stadium, Perth in the first fixture. Check out the match prediction for all the matches of the Big Bash League.

The primary attractions in the league this year will be the youngsters who have been signed by their respective franchises. When it comes to the T20 format cricket, the Australian side has been majorly dependent on the Big Bash League to select the best players out of the lot.

It is for the same reason, that these youngsters join the league in the hope of making it big for their respective franchise and eventually becoming part of the national side. Every year there is always one new name that shines in the league and knocks on the doors of Cricket Australia’s selection committee.

In this article, we have covered a list of young players who are participating in the league and will be hoping to showcase their talent.

1) Cooper Connolly - Perth Scorchers

Cooper Connolly gained the spotlight by making his debut for Australia in September this year. He has already made it to the national side but now the primary challenge comes and that is to maintain his consistency in the shortest format. The 21-year-old is a batting all-rounder who became part of Perth Scorchers in the 2022-23 season and since then he has been associated with the team.
 

2) Jafer Ali Chohan - Sydney Sixers

Jafer Ali Chohan is an overseas participant in BBL 2024-25 who will be playing for the Sydney Sixers. It will be his debut season in the league. After his consistent performance in England domestic cricket, Jafer was chosen by the Sixers to play in the league. Jafer is a spinner who specializes in Right-arm leg breaks. He was part of Berkshire County Cricket Club won the National Counties 50-over competition and had an impressive run with the team in 2022. Jafer is also part of Southern Brave in the Hundred competition.

3) Callum Vidler - Brisbane Heat

Callum Vidler is a 19-year-old pacer from Australia who is part of Queensland in domestic cricket. He is one of the youngest players to become part of the Big Bash League this year. There is a possibility that Callum might not get many chances to prove his talent but he will have the guaranteed learning and growth under the management of Brisbane Heat, who are also the defending champions.
 

4) Harry Dixon - Melbourne Renegades

Harry Dixon comes from the academy of Melbourne Stars but he has been signed by Melbourne Renegades in the previous edition of the league. His cricketing journey started at the age of 13 when he became part of Victoria U15s in 2018. Harry was also part of Australia’s U-19 squad and has played exceptionally well for the team. He is a future prospect for Australia’s national side but for that, Dixon needs to showcase his talent in BBL.

5) Sam Konstas - Sydney Thunder

Sam Konstas is a top-order batsman who showcased his talent on the domestic grounds of Australia in 2024. He is an exceptional first-class who also carries abilities of destructive batting in the shortest format. Sam Konstas will be part of Sydney Thunder this year and he might be expecting to make his presence felt for the team.
