The BBL 2024-25 draft has taken place and regular Pakistani star cricketers - Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Babar Azam have gone unsold. The trio won’t be part of the league for the first time.
There were 8 Australian franchises who took part in the auction. From Pakistan, a total of 69 cricketers enrolled to participate in the league for both men's and women’s divisions.
Out of these 69 players, only a single Pakistani cricket has been picked. From the BBL 2024-25 draft, only Usama Mir has been picked by the Melbourne Stars.
Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Zaman Khan, Naseem Shah, Fakhar Zaman, Shan Masood, Saim Ayub, Usman Qadir, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Umar Akmal, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Haider Ali and Mohammad Hasnain are some of the known Pakistani cricketers who missed on being in the draft.

Why did Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Babar Azam go Unsold?
There is no official statement from the players and the Pakistan Cricket Board on why these three players went unsold in the BBL 2024-25 draft.
However, speculations are that the current state of the Pakistan Cricket team might be the reason. After the disastrous performance of Men in Green in the T20 World Cup 2024, PCB won’t grant any NOC to the Pakistani cricketers to participate in T20 cricket leagues.
This announcement from PCB has created major doubts in franchises across the globe. BBL franchise would prefer to hire the services of the players who can be present for their participation in the league.
Pakistan Cricket team is currently on international duty. They are hosting Bangladesh for a 3-match Test series. They will also host England next and will be touring Australia.
