Reshuffled London Spirit Get Going

One publication went to press with a title 'London Dispirited' such was the disappointment in the Lord's based franchise's opening game defeat against Oval Invincibles.
Much of the criticism came around the top four of Keaton Jennings, David Warner, captain Kane Williamson and Wayne Madsen, but only two of them survived in the position for the trip to Cardiff and a change in result was achieved!
Fresh from their narrow win in Wales, London Spirit have a quick turnaround for their next clash when they head to Manchester to take on the Originals on Monday evening.
From Losing To The Invincibles To Extinguishing The Fire
London Spirit were outplayed with bat and ball in the Men's Hundred's curtain raiser last Tuesday and they needed a response in both disciplines for their second game in Wales.
Fortunately that was exactly what came to pass with David Warner taking the game by the scruff of the next and hitting a 45-ball 70 on his way to the Player of the Match Award.
| Batter | Runs | Balls |
| Kane Williamson | 14 | 14 |
| David Warner | 70 | 45 |
| Jamie Smith | 26 | 14 |
| Ashton Turner | 24 | 14 |
Although captain Kane Williamson still looks a little unsuited to this format, the rest of the top four delivered the goods in Cardiff and we expect no changes ahead of the next game.
Bowling Attack Bounce Back in Wales
After disappointing with only four wickets at Lord's, London Spirit needed more from their bowlers on Saturday evening as well and they produced it when needed with six wickets across the first 47 balls of the second innings of the game.
Although Jonny Bairstow and Chris Green then put on 100 runs to almost wrestle the game back, the damage had been done!
It was a team effort with Luke Wood (1), Daniel Worrall (2), Richard Gleeson (1), Jamie Overton (1) and Liam Dawson (1) all getting amongst the wickets.
Manchester Originals Up Next
Monday's clash will come round very soon for London Spirit and they will be keen to build on the momentum of their success in Cardiff.
They beat Manchester Originals in their first two head to heads but have lost two and had one no-result across the last three!
So it looks like a tough trip to Old Trafford but with David Warner in form, who knows what the limit is now for London Spirit?
