Zimbabwe vs New Zealand - Preview

Zimbabwe have started their new season of red-ball cricket on a very poor note. They hosted South Africa for a 2-match Test series and lost the same by 0-2. It was not the start skipper Craig Ervine might have expected from his players. However, the team management has shown trust in the same squad, but this time, Ben Curran and Sikandar Raza will also be part of the squad. Their presence will give the team an extra depth in the batting lineup. Blessing Muzarabani will be leading the pace attack for Zimbabwe with spin all-rounder Brian Bennet.

New Zealand is coming to play the Test series with a fresh start to the new season. The WTC 2021-23 winners are in the process of regaining their supremacy in the red-ball format after a disappointing ending in the previous cycle. They will be under the leadership of wicket-keeper batter Tom Latham. New Zealand top-batter Kane Williamson is unavailable for the national team duty, and in his absence, Will Young and Rachin Ravindra will be expected to give the team a good start. Glenn Phillips is currently struggling with a groin injury, hence he won’t be part of the series. On the bowling front, Matt Henry, Will O’Rourke, and Mitchell Santner will be the primary players.
