It’s time for the big one as Australia Champions take on defending champions South Africa Champions in match number seven of the World Championship of Legends 2026. The South Africans opened their account with an impressive 97-run win over West Indies. They now find themselves in second place in the table with two points and an NRR of 4.850. Australia, meanwhile, have played two games with a win and a loss each, keeping them in fourth place on the table with two points and an NRR of -0.225. South Africa have an edge over Australia in recent clashes, and their current form makes them the favoured side for this clash.

Australia Champions bounced back nicely after a 46-run defeat to India Champions in their opening fixture. The Aussies took down Bangladesh Champions by 37 runs in their next, after posting an above-par 203-6 on the board.
David Warner and Callum Ferguson led the charge with stylish 60s, while Ben Dunk showcased his finishing skills with a sparkling unbeaten 45 off 24 balls, which included four sixes.
So far, D’Arcy Short has been the team’s most consistent batter with 65 runs in two matches at a strike rate of 216. Joe Burns has also been effective, collecting 54 runs at 142.11.
Warner will once again be expected to deliver at least 30-40 runs at the top, as the experienced opener has more than 14,000 runs in T20s at a strike rate of 140.
The bowlers have done a fair job as well. Fawad Ahmed leads the pack with four wickets at an economy of 8.86. Ben Hilfenhaus continues to show his experience with three scalps and an average of 22. The others haven’t been that impressive and while that didn’t hurt the Aussies against Bangladesh, the lack of bowling resources did show up in their loss against India. This will also be a concern against a top-quality batting side like South Africa.

South Africa Champions head into this contest brimming with confidence after a near-perfect opening-fixture performance. Batting first, the Proteas piled on a massive 242-5 on the board, on the back of some impressive fifties from Richard Levi (87 off 39) and skipper AB de Villiers (70 off 39).
The bowlers then responded perfectly and wrapped up the opposition for just 145 to secure a 97-run win.
South Africa have a strong batting unit and will pose a serious threat to Australia. While De Villiers is their star batter, they also have Faf du Plessis and Colin Ingram to add further depth. Du Plessis had an off game last time out, but the batter has over 12,000 runs in the format with 98 fifty-plus scores. He’s worth backing to get at least 30+ runs here.
Among the bowlers, the South Africans will rely upon Imran Tahir, Wayne Parnell and Aaron Phangiso to do most of the damage. Tahir and Phangiso combined to take six wickets in the opening game against West Indies, while Robbie Frylinck ended up with 2-22 from 3.2 overs.
Overall, this is a well-rounded attack with plenty of wicket-taking options for this Sharjah surface.

Hot and dry conditions are expected in Sharjah for the 3:30 PM start, with temperatures around 34-36°C during the afternoon. The sky should stay clear, with no meaningful rain threat. Humidity will be moderate, while a light breeze could offer some relief. Conditions should become slightly more comfortable as the match moves into the evening.

The pitch at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium has been generally great for batting in the ongoing World Championship of Legends tournament. There have been five 190+ totals so far, with South Africa Champions’ 242-5 being the highest. Expect another true surface with batters having a great day. Slower bowlers will get sufficient help after the powerplay is done. The team batting first would eye a target of around 200 to feel safe.
Bowling first has been the preferred choice at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the World Championship of Legends this season, with four of the six games seeing teams winning the toss opting to bat second. Interestingly, though, all three afternoon fixtures have been won by the side batting first, which might prompt the toss-winning captain here to bat first as well.
Australia Champions have their task cut out for them as they take on South Africa Champions in this all-important fixture. The Aussies lost both their matches against South Africa in the previous edition and have not had the best of starts to this season. South Africa, meanwhile, are looking strong again and are looking every bit like defending champions. Their batting looks robust while their bowling has plenty of wicket-taking options. You can never disregard Australia, but South Africa just look like the more complete side here, and hence betting on them as the winners is the safer choice.
South Africa Champions are our picks for the winners of this match.
