Captain Aqib Iqbal leads a balanced squad filled with aggressive batters and multiple wicket-taking options. Austria recently impressed during the Germany T20I series and Europe Sub Regional Qualifier, where they consistently posted competitive totals against quality opposition.

Karanbir Singh remains Austria’s biggest batting weapon. He has scored 2220 T20I runs at an outstanding average of 48.26 while striking above 172, making him one of the most dangerous Associate batters in world cricket. Bilal Zalmai provides another major threat at the top with 1771 T20I runs and a strike rate close to 165.

Imran Asif and Armaan Randhawa add important stability through the middle order, while Amar Naeem strengthens the finishing department lower down the order. Captain Aqib Iqbal also contributes valuable runs and provides further balance to the batting unit.

Austria’s bowling attack looks equally dangerous because of the variety and experience available within the squad. Aqib Iqbal leads the attack with 97 T20I wickets and remains one of the most reliable bowlers in Associate cricket. Varun Thamotharam remains Malta’s most experienced batter with 1445 T20I runs at a strike rate above 145, including one century and nine half-centuries. Zeeshan Khan has also been a major contributor with 1086 T20I runs and plays a crucial role at the top of the order.

Mehboob Ali has emerged as one of Malta’s most destructive finishers after scoring 519 runs at a strike rate of 183.39 over the last year. Priyan Pushparajan has also impressed heavily with 604 runs at an average above 31 and strike rate over 156, giving Malta strong middle-order depth.

Bowling remains one of Malta’s key strengths because of the experience available within the attack. Waseem Abbas leads the bowling department with 75 T20I wickets and remains their most dependable wicket-taking option.
