Dublin Guardians Preview

The Dublin Guardians poor run of form in the tournament continues as they lost to the Rotterdam Dockers by seven wickets, marking their fourth consecutive defeat and leaving them winless this season.

Batting first after being put in, the Guardians posted a competitive 178 for 4. Opener James Vince anchored the entire innings with a brilliant, unbeaten 95 off 54 balls. Useful middle-order cameos from Sanjay Krishnamurthi (26 off 17) and Vijay Shankar (26 not out off 13) provided vital late acceleration after top-order wickets fell cheaply.

Defending 179, the Dublin bowling attack failed to contain Rotterdam's aggressive batting lineup. While captain Ravichandran Ashwin bowled an exceptional spell of 1 for 21 and Joshua Little picked up two wickets, the rest of the bowlers proved expensive. Rotterdam chased down the target comfortably with eight balls to spare, keeping Dublin firmly anchored at the bottom of the table.

The biggest problem for the Dublin Guardians has been lack of consistency with the bat and ball. In the batting department they are overreliant on their top order to score bulk off the runs, while with the ball they haven't put up a collective team effort with only Joshua Little (5 wickets) and Matthew Hollard (4 wickets) being the only two bowlers among the top wicket takers.

All is not lost for the Guardians as they have six matches left in the tournament and they will need to win a minimum of five matches to have a crack at the top three spot, but if they loose this match then they are certainly out of the qualifier race and will become the first team to be eliminated.

Dublin Guardians Predicted Playing XI:

James Vince, Noah Croes (wk), Harry Tector, Daryl Mitchell, Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Vijay Shankar, George Dockrell, Ravichandran Ashwin (c), Harmeet Singh, Matthew Hollard, Joshua Little

Amsterdam Flames Preview

Amsterdam Flames secured their first win of the ETPL 2026 season with a convincing seven-wicket victory over Glasgow Cosmic, putting their campaign back on track after suffering two consecutive losses against Rotterdam Dockers (by five wickets) and Belfast Wolves (by nine wickets in a five-over rain-shortened contest).

Bowling first after losing the toss, Amsterdam produced a disciplined middle-and-death-overs performance to restrict Glasgow to 171/8. Aryan Dutt was exceptionally economical with 0/20 in his four overs, while Tim Pringle (2/23) and Michael Bracewell (2/30) provided critical breakthroughs to derail Glasgow’s momentum.

Chasing 172, the Flames suffered an early blow when Steven Smith fell for a duck, but Yuvraj Samra mounted a sensational counter-attack. Samra blasted 73 off just 32 balls, studded with seven fours and five sixes. Tim David provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 47 off 29 balls alongside captain Scott Edwards (21*), guiding Amsterdam over the line in 16.5 overs and securing a vital net run rate boost of +1.429.

The Flames with a win here are back on track and in the race for a qualifier spot, they have a strong side who can outclass any opponent on the given day and with six matches left the Flames will have to win four matches minimum to stay in the top three race and this becomes a crucial match in keeping their qualifier hopes alive.

Amsterdam Flames Predicted Playing XI:

Yuvraj Samra, Steven Smith, Bas de Leede, Tim David, Scott Edwards (c) (wk), Curtis Campher, Michael Bracewell, Tim Pringle, Kyle Klein, Aryan Dutt, Richard Gleeson

The average 1st innings score in the last 11 matches played in the ETPL at this venue is around 150-160 runs. The average winning score is around 170-180 runs, anything under 160 is hard to defend at this venue and the outcome of the match largely depends on how well the bowlers bowl in the powerplay overs.

Teams bowling first won 7 of the 12 matches played at Sportpark Duivesteijn, Voorburg in the ongoing European T20 Premier League 2026, chasing has been the preferred option for most of the teams as the conditions get better for batting as the match progresses. We predict the team that win's the toss will look to bowl first in this fixture.

Toss Prediction: Dublin Guardians to win the coin toss

Amsterdam Flames enter this contest as the favourites to win, they ended their winless streak with a win in the last match. If you look at both the teams the Flames has depth and firepower in their batting compared to the Dublin Guardians who struggled with the bat right throughout the season. We are backing the Amsterdam Flames to win this match and keep their qualification hopes alive.
