After a 2-1 win in the T20I series, India Women posted a well-fought victory over England Women in the first ODI. The second game of the series will be played at The Lord's, London, where the Men’s team lost a close encounter in the Tests recently. The match will be played on 19th July from 3:30 pm onwards. India Women now have four wins in a row in the ODIs against England Women.
In the first ODI, England posted 258 for 6, recovering from 97 for 4 through a 106-run stand between Sophia Dunkley (83) and Alice Davidson-Richards (53). Nat Sciver-Brunt, returning from injury, added 41 after being dropped by Mandhana, but India’s bowlers did well to control the damage. Off-spinner Sneh Rana returned to form with 2 for 31, and Goud impressed with 2 for 55. Despite Sophie Ecclestone’s late cameo, England were left defending a modest total.
Deepti Sharma once again proved to be England’s nemesis as she guided India to a four-wicket win in the first ODI at Southampton, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Chasing 259, India recovered from a mid-innings wobble thanks to Deepti’s unbeaten 62 off 64 balls and her crucial 90-run stand with Jemimah Rodrigues (48). England had hopes after removing skipper Harmanpreet Kaur with a successful review and Rodrigues soon after, but Deepti kept her composure. She brought up her fifty in 52 balls and, alongside Amanjot Kaur, ensured a smooth finish with 10 balls to spare.

The weather in London is expected to be cloudy on match days, with temperatures ranging between 17 and 29 degrees Celsius. Winds will blow from the southeast at 10-26 km/h. Rain is expected on the day before the game, which might make the outfield slow. It is a bowling-friendly pitch. It is a paradise for both batters and bowlers as it offers balance in all innings. The wind will help the pacers swing the ball.
The game will be played at the Lord’s, London, from 19th July at 3:30 PM onwards. The stadium has a capacity of 30000 spectators. It has hosted 149 Tests, 87 ODIs, and 13 T20Is so far.
In 87 games hosted here, the result has favored the teams defending the target on 43 occasions. The average first innings score is 232, 32 more than the second innings. The team winning the toss should bat first.
India Women have 11 wins in their last 12 ODIs. Their batting lineup is top-notch with the openers scoring more than 1000 runs in the last 10 ODIs. The bowling unit seems weak compared to the hosts. First game’s man of the match, Deepti Sharma, had scored 68 runs in India’s last outing against England at the Lord's.
Both teams have two wins each at The Lord’s against each other.
We predict that India Women will defeat England Women.
