After what has been a richly entertaining edition of the Indian Premier League, this 2024 season is now well into the 'business end' of the competition.
As such, every match matters and this is a prime example with Gujarat Titans facing elimination if they lose whereas CSK will take a giant step towards a play-off place if they are victorious.
This is the second head to head between the Titans and the Super Kings in this year's IPL and it was CSK who dominated the last meeting and cruised to a 63 run win.
It was another defeat for Gujarat Titans in their last game, Match 52 against RCB, and they never looked like getting the win after being dismissed for 147. At one stage the Titans were 19/3 and it required some rebuilding from the middle-order to get them to a vaguely defendable total.
The problem for Titans has been that they have not scored enough runs throughout this tournament or done so at a quick enough rate. Hardik Pandya leaving for Mumbai Indians has left a massive gulf in the side with bat, ball and leadership. They have also lost Mohammed Shami to injury and they are a pale imitation of their 2022 and 2023 counterparts.
They have shown very little which makes anyone think they will win this game.

The battle of the Kings was won by Chennai against Punjab Kings in Match 53 in Dharamsala. The victory has put CSK into a strong position ahead of these final group stage fixtures and there will be plenty of confidence within the group ahead of this game.
We have seen the growth of Ruturaj Gaikwad as a leader in this tournament with him slowly emerging from MS Dhoni's shadow in a way that Ravindra Jadeja was never able to. But that said, Jadeja has shown the value of no pressure and playing in the ranks - he took the Player of the Match Award with 43 runs (26 balls) and 3/20 against Punjab.
Ahead of this game, this is when CSK typically start to up their game - tough news for Gujarat Titans to hear!
Ruturaj Gaikwad to score over 28.5 runs 1.85
Bet nowThe captain of Chennai Super Kings has been on fire scoring runs at a consistent rate this season. He has scored 32, 62, 98, 108* in his last four innings and overall he has amassed 541 runs in 11 matches averaging 60.11, given his current form, we back Ruturaj Gaikwad to score over 28.5 runs in today's match.

Don't expect to see any cloud cover throughout this match in Ahmedabad. The temperature may well still be up at 40 degrees at the start of the game before dropping no lower than 32 degrees by the end.
This is one of those pitches which does not deliver big totals but also does not offer a great deal for the spinners. Expect a sticky surface with a par score no higher than 180 for the team batting first.
Total aggregate runs over 369.5 2.06
Bet nowFollowing a series of average scores, the last match played at Narendra Modi Stadium was high-scoring, with a total aggregate score of 406. Matches between CSK and GT at Ahmedabad have also been high-scoring, with an average total aggregate score of 372 runs across the last two games played at this venue.
Almost 57% of IPL games have been won by the team fielding first at the Narendra Modi Stadium so we predict that both captains will go out to the toss planning to bowl first if they call correctly!
CSK have gone under the radar for much of this tournament but they still look likely to finish in the top four. In the other corner, Gujarat Titans have been very disappointing and we expect to see them lose once more in this fixture.
We are backing CSK to win this match!
