Hobart Hurricanes Academy Preview

Hobart Hurricanes Academy also made a losing start to the tournament, going down to Victoria Academy by 5 wickets. They managed 141 with the bat but could not do enough with the ball to stop Victoria from reaching the target.

Hobart Hurricanes Academy have also struggled to get the most out of their batting group so far. Bradley Hope was their highest scorer in the previous game with 34 runs from 34 balls, while Teague Wyllie added 22 runs and Tim Ward scored 18 from 13 balls.

Nivethan Radhakrishnan and Jake Doran could not contribute much, while Raf MacMillan and Caelan Maladay added 9 and 13 runs respectively. Hobart will need more from their top and middle order if they are to put Nepal under pressure.

The side has some useful players with domestic and international-level experience, and they will be hoping the batting group can show more intent in this match.

The Hobart bowling attack picked up wickets regularly in the previous game, but could not stop Victoria from chasing down 142. Raf MacMillan, Gabe Bell, Bradley Hope and Nivethan Radhakrishnan picked up one wicket each.

MacMillan was particularly economical, finishing with 1/18 from his four overs, while Gabe Bell also picked up a wicket. Hobart will need their bowlers to maintain that discipline and make better use of their chances against Nepal.

Weather Conditions

The weather in Darwin is expected to be mostly sunny on 24th August, with temperatures around 21°C early in the day and reaching around 31°C later. Winds are expected to be around 15-20 km/h, while the chance of rain is low. Overall, the conditions should be suitable for the game.

HHA vs BHPXI Pitch Report

The pitch at the venue has produced balanced games, with teams averaging 149 runs in the first innings and 137 runs in the second innings across 16 matches. Teams batting first have won 6 of those 16 matches, while teams bowling first have won 10 games.

A score around 150-160 could be a competitive total, but the chasing side will have a good chance if they keep wickets in hand. The venue has generally provided a good game between bat and ball rather than being heavily tilted towards the batters.

Score Prediction:

If Bangladesh High Performance XI bat first: 155-65 runs
If Hobart Hurricanes Academy bat first: 130-140 runs

Toss: To Bowl

The captain winning the toss may prefer to bowl first. Teams bowling first have won 10 of the 16 matches  at this venue, compared to 6 wins for teams batting first. With the second innings also having a higher average runs-per-wicket figure, chasing could be the better option here.

Toss Prediction: Bangladesh High Performance XI to win the coin toss

Bangladesh High Performance Xi enter this contest as the favourites to win this match, they have a strong bowling lineup and a power packed batting unit than the Hobart Hurricanes Academy side and we back them to carry on their good run of form from the last match and make it two wins in a row.
