Bet NowKings XI Punjab has a big challenge on its hand as it takes on the table toppers Delhi Capitals in this game. The Kings XI has won their last two games after a poor start to the season and won a thriller against Mumbai Indians which has reignited hopes in the camp. On the other hand Delhi Capitals overcame the challenge thrown at them by the Chennai Super Kings to win their last game in the final over.
For the Kings XI Punjab it is the form of their bowling attack that has been a big concern. Game after game they have failed to apply pressure on the opposition with the ball and this is something they will need to do in this game. They had lost to Delhi Capitals earlier and it will be interesting to see if they are able to square it off for the season with a win here.
They looked down and out but two consecutive wins have just given them a ray of hope to make it to the playoffs. Lokesh Rahul’s side did well against Mumbai Indians in the last game which was the first time in the history of IPL where the game went to a 2nd Super Over which Kings XI sealed off. With confidence high in the camp at the moment Rahul would be aiming at the third consecutive victory this season.
Openers Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal have more than 900 runs between them this season and they will be looking to offer the side a good start. Chris Gayle looks good at No. 3 and along with Nicholas Pooran makes it a strong top order. The side will look to get a good knock from Maxwell who has had a horrible season so far. Their lower order also packs good batting firepower with Deepak Hooda and Chris Jordan in the side.
The side has struggled with the ball so far in the season and shall have to grab early wickets. Mohammad Shami and Maxwell will be expected to get early breakthroughs for the side in this game. Jordan and Arshdeep Singh must keep the line toght during the middle overs and the side would also look to get economical spells from Ravi Bishnoi and Murugan Ashwin.

It what has so far been one of the best seasons for the Delhi Capitals Shreyas Iyer’s side has dominated most of the games they have played. They won by 5 wickets against the Chennai Super Kings in what was another terrific run chase for them where the batsmen held on to their nerves. They had defeated the Kings XI earlier in the season and Iyer would look to repeat the same magic in this game.
They have a very strong batting line-up with Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw at the top. Dhawan scored a hundred in the last game and shall look to carry on from there. Iyer has led the side from the front with the bat and makes a good middle order with Marcus Stoinis and Ajinkya Rahane. In Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin and Alex Carey they have good hitters to finish the innings.
Kagiso Rabada has bowled with lot of heart so far and shall be eying early wickets in company of Tushar Deshpande. In Anrich Nortje they have another bowler in good form. With Axar Patel bowling tight spells the side will be confident with the ball. They would just hope to see an economical spell from Stoinis and Ashwin in this game.

The skies over Dubai would be clear on October 20 and this would make the conditions great for batting. In the last few games we have seen the pitch slow down which is not allowing batsmen to hit through the line like we had seen at the start of the season. Nevertheless it remains a great wicket to bat on and the side batting first would have to eye a score in excess of 180 runs here.
Dubai International Cricket Stadium has large boundaries around the square and also on the front of the wickets and this makes it challenging for the batsmen to cross the boundary rope. However the track is batting friendly and the fast outfield also aids boundary scoring. It is a tough wicket for the fast bowlers but we have seen the spinners do well as the odd ball can surprise the batsmen.
We have seen the dew factor play a role in the last few games here where bowling second has looked extremely difficult. Bowlers are finding it hard to grip the wet ball. Both the captains would have this in their mind at the toss and the side winning it is likely to opt for batting first in this game
Kings XI Punjab has looked good in the last two games but they are in a difficult position now in the points table. There would be additional pressure on the side as they don’t just have to win this one but do so by a huge margin. Delhi Capitals on the other hand are sitting comfortably on the top of the table and have nearly booked a berth in the playoffs. They have a good bowling attack and this would make them favorites against a struggling Kings XI side.
