Purani Delhi 6 Preview

Purani Delhi-6 have shown both resilience and explosive batting in the early stages of the Delhi Premier T20 League 2026. After two matches they sit on two points with one win and one defeat. Their campaign began with a high-scoring loss before a dominant chase delivered their first victory.

The tournament opened on 31st July with a narrow four-wicket defeat to Central Delhi Kings. Purani Delhi-6 posted a competitive 202 for 4 only to see the target chased down in 19.1 overs. They bounced back strongly on 3rd August, successfully chasing West Delhi Lions’ 180 for 6 and reaching 182 for 3 in just 17.5 overs to win by seven wickets.

Batting has been the standout feature of their campaign so far. Wicketkeeper-batter Anuj Rawat leads the way with an impressive 154 runs from two innings including a century in the first game and 49* in the following. 

He has provided consistency and power at the top of the order. Dev Lakra has been equally destructive with 117 runs across the two matches. Anuj has been the most destructive of the two with an 181.18 strike rate while Lakra has been striking at 167.14. They are two of the tournament's top run scorers as of writing this.

Lalit Yadav and Samarth Seth have both contributed 37 runs each, offering useful support in the middle order. The ability to post totals above 200 and chase down scores around 180 highlights the depth and firepower available in the batting line-up.

The bowling unit has been shared around. Pankaj Jaiswal and Rajneesh Dabar lead the wicket charts with 3 scalps each from two matches. Both of them bagged 2 wickets apiece helping their team to victory over West Delhi Lions. 

Prince Mishra, Dev Lakra, Udhav Mohan and Digvesh Singh Rathi have each taken one wicket. While the bowling attack has taken regular breakthroughs, it has occasionally struggled to contain high-scoring opposition on the batting-friendly Arun Jaitley Stadium surface.

Central Delhi Kings Preview

Central Delhi Kings have made a perfect start to the Delhi T20 League 2026, remaining unbeaten after three matches with three victories and six points. Their consistent chasing ability and balanced performances have placed them among the early leaders, and they will look to extend that record.

They began their campaign on 31st July with a thrilling four-wicket win over Purani Dilli-6. Chasing 203, the Kings reached 204 for 6 in 19.1 overs. They followed it up on 2 August with another four-wicket victory in a rain-reduced contest against Outer Delhi Warriors, chasing 131 in just 9.5 overs after the match was limited to 10 overs per side. 

On 3 August they completed a hat-trick of wins by chasing down North Delhi Strikers’ 209 for 3, finishing on 210 for 6 in 18.2 overs to win by four wickets once again.

Batting has been reliable and aggressive throughout. Captain Yash Dhull leads the run charts with 117 runs from three innings at a strike rate of 177.23. He started the season with 72 off 45 vs Purani Delhi and although the following scores have been below par, watch out for the former India U19 captain.

Jonty Sidhu has been equally consistent with 100 runs across three matches. Siddharth Joon has contributed 67 runs, Aditya Bhandari 65, and Yugal Saini has scored 43 runs. Useful cameos have also come from Vansh Bedi (28), Jasvir Sehrawat (24) and Keshav Dabas (21). 

The side has shown a strong preference and ability for chasing, successfully hunting down totals of 202, 130 and 209 in successive games.
