Tournament: ICC Mens T20 World Cup 2021 | Format: T20 | Venue: Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket (Ministry Turf 1), Al Amarat, Oman | Toss: To Bowl
Bet NowWe are into the 6th game of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 and Oman would be up against Bangladesh. Oman has made a brilliant start to the tournament with a dominating victory against Papua New Guinea. Bangladesh on the other hand has put itself under pressure with a loss against Scotland in their opening game.
Bangladesh is a strong side, and they have experience playing this format of the game. The side has been under pressure putting up poor performances in the recent games, but they would look forward to making their experience count here. It would be interesting to see if the Omani players have the steam to cause a major upset in the tournament by winning this game.
Zeeshan Maqsood would be proud of the efforts of his players in their opening game against Papua New Guinea. They got the right start in the tournament winning the game by 10 wickets. It would be a different ball game against Bangladesh and Maqsood would like his players to put in their 100% and open their prospects of making it to the next round.
Jatinder Singh and Aqib Ilyas set up a 131-run stand in the last game and they would look to do something similar in this game. The side would like to see a good show from Khawar Ali, Maqsood, and Kashyap Prajapati in the middle order against the strong spin attack that Bangladesh has. In Naseem Khushi and Mohammad Nadeem, the side has good hitters of the ball to follow.
Kaleemullah and Bilal Khan did well with the new ball in the last game and a similar show would be expected from them in this game. Maqsood used the conditions well for his four-wicket haul and he would look to continue the same way. The side would however need tighter spells from the likes of Ilyas, Mohammad Nadeem, and Khawar Ali who were expensive in the last game.

Mahmudullah’s side is struggling right now. They lost both the warmup games and made a mess of the easy chase in the last game against Scotland in the last game to lose it by 6 wickets. They can least afford another loss here and Mahmudullah would like to see a strong comeback from his players in this must-win game.
Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar went out cheaply in the last game and the side would be expecting a good start from them here. In the middle order, the likes of Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Afif Hossain played slowly in the last game, and they would have to work on their scoring rate. Mahmudullah and Mahedi Hasan add good firepower to this batting and a strong show would be needed from them.
Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman looked ordinary in the last game a strong show would be needed from them here. Shakib and Mahedi Hasan enjoyed these conditions in the last game and they would need to play a key role for the side to win in this game. Mohammad Saifuddin and Afif Hossain will need to play the supporting act well in this must-win game.

There are predictions of clear skies over Al Amerat and we are likely to see a warm evening. The wicket has played slow, and batsmen need to get their eyes set in to score runs here with spinners having a great time on this wicket. The side batting first in this game would be happy to put 165 runs or more on the board.
Al Amerat Cricket Ground has a surface that is generally good for batting. The outfield is fast here allowing easy boundary scoring. It can be a nightmare for the fast bowlers on this surface with little help for them. Spinners have enjoyed a good record here as the slowness in the track aids them.
Two games have been played at this venue and in both these games, we have seen sides struggle to get their scoreboard moving. It is a difficult surface to set up a score and run chases have been easy and hence the side winning the toss would like to bowl first on this wicket.
Oman comes here with a big win and this would add to their confidence. But there are some concerns with the form of their middle-order which wasn’t exposed in the last game. They are likely to have a tougher time against Bangladesh in this game. Bangladesh needs to execute its batting plan well and shall need contributions at the top. They are a strong side, and this would make them favorites to win this game.
