Scotland succumbed to 53/6 in the 12th over as their top order failed to give a good start. Chris Greaves (45 runs) and Mark Watt (22 runs) counter attacked the opposition bowlers and shared a 51-run partnership for seventh wicket to take them to a respectable total of 140/9 in 20 overs. Earlier, George Munsey scored a valiant 29 runs midst the continuous wicket fall at the top.

Scotland pacers Josh Davey and Bradley Wheal took a wicket apiece in the powerplay and strangled the run flow effectively in the match. Papua New Guinea Preview

PNG had a rude welcome to the World Cup games with both their openers being dismissed for ducks. Skipper Asaad Vala (56 runs) and Charles Amini (37 runs) then lead the fightback for their team from 0/2. But their middle order fell like ninepins as they ended with just 129 runs in their scheduled 20 overs.  

Their bowling unit was never in the game as the opposition cleaned up the chase in just 14.2 overs for no loss. All the seven bowlers failed to pick at least a wicket and everyone went for over 7 RPO. Kabua Morea, Pokana, and ravu must take more responsibility with the ball and try to take wickets early in the match.
