Pakistan and Sri Lanka lock horns one final time in this tri-series. After six matches of action-packed and nail-biting play, it all comes down to this final match. The hosts take on the Lankans on a Super Saturday at Rawalpindi International Stadium for the title clash in the Pakistan Tri-Series 2025.
The host nation were the first to get through to the finals, winning their first three matches: two against Zimbabwe and one against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka, however, had to take a tougher route to get here. They had a poor start to their campaign, losing against Pakistan and in a shock loss against Zimbabwe.
But, like all champion teams do, they fought back with a win against Zimbabwe and then had Dushmantha Chameera's last-over heroics with the ball in match six, defending ten runs in the final over and conceding only three runs.
Head to Head Record: Pakistan and Sri Lanka faced off in 26 T20I matches till date, where Pakistan has dominated with 14 wins, while the Lankans won 12 matches.

Pakistan will be slightly taken aback by their performance in the last match, especially in the death overs. It was a game they could have won easily. For the first time, they were truly tested, and they failed to deliver in crunch time. The struggle and inconsistency in the top order persists, as they are unable to get a flying start, with their average Powerplay score being 46 in the last four matches.
Babar Azam, barring a half-century against Zimbabwe, has been dismissed cheaply in the other matches. Fakhar Zaman in the middle order has been an inspirational move, with him striking at 160. Meanwhile, Sahibzada Farhan has been in terrific form, racking up 168 runs in four matches; he is also the leading run-scorer in this series.
Mohammad Nawaz has been outstanding with both bat and ball, having scored 52 runs and picked up 7 wickets. Usman Tariq picked up 4 wickets in the only game he played, but he has been benched since then. Abrar Ahmed and Salman Mirza haven't quite been impactful and have bagged 4 and 3 wickets respectively.

Sri Lanka will be relieved by their performances from the last couple of matches after dropping two early matches. The change in approach from their batters, especially the openers and the number 3 batter, has made the difference—shifting from being cautious in the first two matches to going all-out attack in the last two.
Pathum Nissanka scored 98 runs against Zimbabwe, and then in the next match, Kamil Mishara stepped up with 76 runs. Kusal Mendis has played a good supporting hand in both these knocks, scoring 25 and 40 runs. These three all seem to be in good form and will look to dominate the Pakistan bowlers right from the start, like they did in the last match.
The problem for the Lankans has been their pace attack. Barring Dushmantha Chameera, who has picked up 7 wickets, none of the fast bowlers have been good in the death overs. In the spin department, however, Hasaranga has been mighty effective, picking up 6 wickets.

The pitch at Rawalpindi Stadium has offered equal assistance to both the batters and bowlers right throughout but the last couple of games have been a bit high scoring. Overall a decent surface for the batters where they can hit through the line and a fast outfield. While for the bowlers spinners have been in the game right throughout so expect a close contest where a score of around 175-180 batting first could be match winning.
Teams batting first won three matches, and teams bowling first won three matches in the tri-series so far. It's been a highly competitive one, but in finals, the pressure is always on the chasing side. The best option for either team will be to bat first, put a huge score on the board, and put pressure on the opposition batters in a final. Therefore, we predict the team that wins the toss will look to bat first.
The odds are heavily in favor of the home team, Pakistan, to win this match. However, we are going against the odds in this fixture, as Sri Lanka have shown what they can do when the momentum is on their side, and we believe that they will turn up and dominate against Pakistan in this fixture and lift the trophy.
