WAC vs TSC Betting Odds

Bookie Western AustraliaWAC TasmaniaTSC

Western Australia will be back home to face Tasmania as they look to get back to winning ways. The hosts clinched a close win in their last game here against Queensland, chasing down a 272-run target in the fourth innings. However, they have struggled to find form with the bat ever since.

As a result, they have lost one and drawn another game since then. Western Australia could not even reach 200 in the first innings of their last two matches. Coming to Perth, they will be hopeful of a batting comeback but also aware of their vulnerabilities, which could be exploited by the opposition on this wicket.

There is a good amount of bounce on offer here as well as pace, and the fast bowlers will be crucial in this match. Riley Meredith, Jackson Bird, and Gabe Bell will be the key bowlers to watch out for in the Tasmanian lineup. They will pose a tough challenge to the struggling hosts.

Skipper Jordan Silk will be expecting his batters to find consistency as they come to W.A.C.A. Caleb Jewell, Tim Ward, and Nikhil Chaudhary are the key performers for Tasmania in the top order.

Western Australia Preview

Sam Whiteman will back his batters to stage a comeback at W.A.C.A as they take on an inconsistent Tasmania. The hosts were quite impressive in their last outing on this ground, scoring 322 runs in their first innings and chasing down a 272-run target in the second, with one wicket in hand.

Sam Whiteman played a crucial role in that run chase, while Cameron Bancroft and Cameron Green were the top performers in the middle order in the first innings. There are promising players in this batting lineup. There is plenty of experience, and Western Australia should be aiming for another 320+ run total in the first innings.

There were many changes to the XI in the last game, with Green missing out and Mitch Marsh making it to number 3. Bancroft was promoted up the order to open the innings alongside the skipper. Marsh will not be playing in this match since he will be leading Australia in the T20 World Cup 2026.

Western Australia will also be missing another key all-rounder, Cameron Green, in this game. As such, the hosts will look to include bowling all-rounder Ashton Agar in the XI. Sam Fanning would come in for Mitch Marsh and play a crucial part in the middle order alongside Jayden Goodwin.

In the lower middle order, the hosts have Aaron Hardie and Hilton Cartwright, both of whom have failed to make a big impact in recent outings. Nevertheless, Hardie was the top batter in the first innings of the last game, scoring a fifty at number 6.

The bowling attack looks very promising with Cameron Gannon, Brody Couch, and right-arm offbreak Corey Rocchiccioli. We expect a strong bowling performance from the pacers in this squad. Hardie and Liam Haskett are other options in the pace-bowling department.

Western Australia Predicted Playing XI:

Cameron Bancroft, Sam Fanning, Sam Whiteman (c), Jayden Goodwin, Hilton Cartwright, Aaron Hardie, Joel Curtis (wk), Corey Rocchiccioli, Cameron Gannon, Brody Couch, Liam Haskett

Tasmania Preview

Tasmania will back themselves to come out on top of this game, with the kind of bowling attack they bring to Perth. They’ve got Gabe Bell, Billy Stanlake, and Jackson Bird in the pace department. Each of these three bowlers is a promising player who can turn the game around with timely breakthroughs.

In a recent game against New South Wales in Sydney, Tasmania posted a 600+ first innings total and bowled out the opposition for 174 runs in the third innings to secure an innings-win. Bird and Bell picked up 3 wickets each.

The two carried their form and momentum in the next game as well, even though they missed Riley Meredith. While Stanlake is a solid bowling option, Tasmania can also look up to bowling all-rounder Bradley Hope with his medium pace bowling.

There have been certain changes recently with N Radhakrishnan replacing M Kuhnemann as the opening batsman. The former can bowl left-arm orthodox and will be handy with the ball. Kuhneman, who has a similar style of bowling, was also a reliable wicket-taker, but has joined the T20 World Cup squad.

Caleb Jewell continues to open the innings, and a lot depends on him in the top order. Tim Ward and Bradley Hope are also promising middle-order batters, and along with the experienced skipper Jordan Silk coming in at number 5, it looks like a power-packed batting order.

Nikhil Chaudhary is one to watch out for lower down the order at number 7, and needs to strike a partnership with wicket-keeper batsman Jake Doran.

Tasmania Predicted Playing XI:

Caleb Jewell, Tim Ward, Bradley Hope, Jordan Silk (c), Jake Doran (wk), Mitchell Owen, Nikhil Chaudhary, Aidan O Connor, N Radhakrishnan, Gabe Bell, Riley Meredith

Weather Conditions

It will be sunny with a high of 31 degrees Celsius on all four days of the Test match in Perth. There are no signs of cloud or rain, and we expect great weather for Test cricket at the W.A.C.A. On the last day of the game, there might be some help on offer for the spinners too.

WAC vs TSC Pitch Report

It is a great wicket that offers pace and bounce, and will assist the bowlers. Pacers will be on top of the game, but at the same time, middle-order batters will find timing the ball easier on this ground. The average first innings score in the last 3 matches played here this season is 258 runs. Anything over 320 in the first innings will be a highly competitive total, which will set the batting team up for domination in the Test.

Toss: To Bat

Though teams batting first on this ground this season have won just one of the three matches, while one ended in a draw, batting first will still be a great choice at this venue. It will allow the team to post a great total in the first innings and put them in a great position in the match.

Tasmania feature a strong bowling attack and a promising top order. They will pose a tough challenge to the hosts. Western Australia will have the home advantage. Their bowling is suited for these conditions, and they are likely to have the upper hand in this contest. Though their batting struggled in the last two games, we expect them to bounce back strongly here, and hence, they start as favorites in our match prediction.
