Recent home form, in particular, is very positive, with the team getting at least two goals in their last four Premier League games at the Amex Stadium. Victory over Southampton would be their third victory in succession in the league, which they last accomplished in September 2023.

Despite a number of injury problems, Brighton's strength has enabled them to remain consistent. Among the key absentees are James Milner and Solly March, whereas Carlos Baleba is suspended. Lewis Dunk, Tariq Lamptey, Adam Webster and Yankuba Minteh are marginal and late fitness will be assessed on the day. Southampton's Premier League comeback has been a struggle and now their hopes of survival seem to be bleak. With just one win in 12 games—a home victory against Everton—the Saints are languishing at the bottom of the table. Aside from a solitary home draw with Ipswich Town, Southampton has struggled to accumulate points, particularly on the road, where all six away games this season have ended in defeat.

Away performances have been particularly wretched, scoring only three goals and allowing 13 to be scored against them. Sitting five points adrift from safety, the Saints are in dire need of a turnaround to stave off what appears to be an impending relegation battle.

Manager Russell Martin has other problems in preparation for the trip to Brighton given the injury problem.
