TRAU FC extended their winless run across all competitions to six matches after being held to a goalless draw by NEROCA FC in the opening Imphal derby. Despite the 0-0 scoreline, the contest was lively, with both sides creating several chances. 

TRAU came closest in the first half when Seila Toure's header struck the post, while Afridi Buyamayum narrowly missed the target after a surging run. Raengdai FC could hardly have asked for a better start to life in the Durand Cup, defeating seasoned campaigners Indian Navy FT 1-0 in their tournament debut. The decisive moment came in the 58th minute when substitute Khaidem Amarjit Singh found the net after Mridul Doley won possession high up the pitch and carved open the Navy defence. 

Doley was among Raengdai's standout performers and could easily have added his name to the scoresheet had he shown a little more composure with an earlier chance.

The victory made Raengdai the first of the three Manipuri clubs in this year's competition to register a win. Having already created history as the first tribal club from Manipur to reach the I-League 2, they now have a golden opportunity to seal a place in the Durand Cup knockout stage in their debut campaign with another victory on Monday.
