Australia vs Pakistan 1st T20 International - Summary
A delayed start to the first T20 international led it to be reduced to only 7 overs. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first but the decision worked against the team and the batters failed to complete the chase.
Australian opening partnership was sent back to the pavilion in the early horse of the game. Matt Short (7 off 4) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (9 off 5) were the early departures. However, the experienced Australian firepower Glenn Maxwell came to the rescue for the team.
Glenn Maxwell scored 43 off 19 balls at a strike rate of 226.32 and gave the required push to the team. Marcus Stoinis contributed with 21 off 7 balls at a strike rate of 300.
From Pakistan’s bowling unit, it was not a good performance. The bowlers failed to control the run rate of the opposition. Abbas Afridi picked up 2 wickets at an economy of 9 in a single over. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf picked up a single wicket each but their economy was on the higher side with 18.50 and 10.50.

2) Haris Rauf - Pakistan
Haris Rauf came out as a weak link in the first T20i because of his higher economy and he managed to just a single wicket. He was targeted consistently by Glenn Maxwell in the previous game. However, there is no way his presence for Pakistan on the Australian grounds can be ignored. Haris is very familiar with Australian playing conditions because of the Big Bash League and he might bounce back in the 2nd T20i.
