Duleep Trophy: Rishabh Pant is all Set for a Comeback to Team India in Test Format

India’s star wicket-keeper batsman - Rishabh Pant, is on a mission to make his comeback to the team for the Test format. He will be participating in the Duleep Trophy - India’s First-class tournament.

Pant will be seen playing in the domestic season after a long time. He has not been part of first-class cricket since his life-threatening accident in December 2022.

The Duleep Trophy is a four-day first-class tournament in India’s domestic cricket. Playing in the long-form tournament will help Pant to gain confidence and knock on the door of India’s selection committee for the Test season in international cricket.

Rishabh Pant made his debut for Team India in the Test format in August 2018 against England. He was last seen playing long-form cricket in December 2022 against New Zealand.

Pant has already made his return to the white-ball cricket. He was part of the T20 World Cup and recently held T20 international series against Sri Lanka.

In the Duleep Trophy, Pant is part of Team B under the leadership of Abhimanyu Easwaran. They will face Team A captained by Shubman Gill at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday.

Top players from India's team are also back for the domestic season this year. KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav are a few names who will seen playing the Duleep trophy.

Two young guns - Prasidh Krishna and Tilak Varma, are also part of the tournament. The duo were out of action due to their respective injuries and hence it is a good opportunity for them to perform and become part of Team India.
