Hardik Pandya’s power-hitting display proves he is back to his best
In the recent India vs Bangladesh T20 World Cup Match, Hardik Pandya was at his best. His power-hitting performance aided India to beat Bangladesh by 50 runs. Pandya’s knock of 50 in 27 balls was the show-stealer of the match and India kept their record of not losing any match in the tournament by reaching a total of 196.
Pandya's All-Round Brilliance Powers India to Victory
India was put in a rather sticky situation right after Rishabh Pant got out in the 12th over. Consequently, reaching a score of 200 on the surprisingly favourable pitch seemed difficult, but Pandya took the opportunity and led the team to another victory. His sensational performance, especially a straight six in response to Rishad Hossain’s delivery in the 18th over helped India to set a challenging score.
Even though Shivam Dube had a hard time establishing his form, he managed to take two sixes towards the end of his innings. Contrastingly, Pandya’s performance showed characteristics of fluidity and aggression as he could hit big shots even when the deliveries were well-executed. One of the memorable highlights of his innings was the straight six he hit off Rishad, the bowler known for his strategic deliveries.
However, Pandya did not just shine with the bat alone. His slower delivery was miscalculated by Litton Das in the fifth over of Bangladesh’s chase. This wicket boosted India’s dominance. Kuldeep Yadav supported Pandya’s work beautifully and took three big scalps of Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy and Shakib Al Hasan in the middle phase.
Notable Contributions from Other Players of the Indian Team
In the course of India’s innings, other batsmen also pulled their weight well. The inception by Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli was noteworthy with Kohli hitting some mighty sixes off Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad. The brief performance by Rishab Pant was also commendable and included a one-handed six off Rishad.
Despite losing regular wickets, the Indian team kept the runs flowing and reached a strong total. On the other hand, Bangladesh could not find their form in the match and once again, India emerged victorious.
