ICC Test Rankings - Pakistan Slips to Lowest Rank since 1965
The new ICC Test Rankings have been released and it is not good news for Pakistan cricket. After a 0-2 series loss at home against Bangladesh, the Pakistan cricket team has slipped to 8th place - the lowest ranking since 1965.
According to newly released rankings, Pakistan now has 76 ratings with 1528 points in 20 matches. They are still a rank up from Bangladesh but overall, the team has shown a major decline in their performance in all formats of cricket.
Bangladesh defeated Pakistan in the first Test by 10 wickets and in the 2nd Test, they scored a win by 6 wickets. It was a historical win for the visitors against one of their arch-rivals in international cricket.
“Pakistan dropped two places in the ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings to go to eighth position after suffering a shock series loss at home to Bangladesh,” the ICC said on its website.
Pakistan is next scheduled to host England in Test format. The 3-match Test series between the two teams will begin on 7th October.
Considering the recent result at home against Bangladesh, the odds on cricket betting apps in India are in favour of England for the series.

With the major dip in Pakistan’s ICC Test Rankings, their chance of reaching the WTC final has become bleak. They are currently at the 8th position in the WTC 2023-25-point table.
ICC Test Rankings Of Top Pakistani Cricketers
When it comes to individual rankings, there is a sudden drop in the rankings of some of the big names.
Skipper Babar Azam has slipped down 3 positions and now he is currently ranked as the 12th batsman in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings. His average score in the last 5 Test fixtures has been 19.
He has been a constant failure for the team. Babar’s failure has also led to the sudden exposure of Pakistan’s vulnerable batting lineup.
There is no change in Mohammad Rizwan’s rank as of now. He is currently ranked 10th.
On the bowling front, Shaheen Afridi is the only player who represents Pakistan on the list. He slipped one rank and now Afridi stands at the 11th rank in the list.
