India Probable Playing XI vs Bangladesh - 1st Test

Team India is all set to host Bangladesh for a 2-match Test series. The series is scheduled to begin on 19th September. The first fixture is scheduled to take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

The series is crucial for team India to make sure they reach the third consecutive final of the World Test Championship. India is currently at the top of the point table and they need 8 more wins to cement their space for the final game.

Playing at the home pitch and familiar conditions will be a major advantage for Rohit Sharma and company. The series will also see the return of pace masters Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami into action.

On the batting front, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are also expected to be seen in action.

He recently announced his retirement from T20 cricket and that might incline his focus towards Test cricket more.

With Virat Kohli, we might see the return of Rishabh Pant in the team. He is currently part of the Duleep Trophy and there are rumours that BCCI might give him another chance in the red-ball format.

All-rounder

Ravindra Jadeja is expected to headline the all-rounder segment for team India at number 6. He has been in good form at the lower end for Team India and carries the ability to build partnerships.

Spin Bowling

India is expected to play with 3-spinners in the series. With Ravindra Jadeja, team India will be dependent for wickets on ICC Number 1 Test bowler - R. Ashwin. With Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav is also expected to make his presence in the playing XI.
