Overseas Players Making Debut in IPL 2025

Indian Premier League has become the talk of the town because of the recently held IPL mega auctions in Jeddah. A total of 182 players were sold out the draft of 577 players for the auctions. Some big names went for a heft amount and some fresh faces also became part of the league. Check out the IPL betting tips for IPL 2025.

Rishabh Pant became the costliest player in the history of IPL with a price tag of INR 27 Crore. He was sold to Lucknow Super Giants and Pant will be expected to lead the team in the upcoming season of the league.

Delhi Capitals replaced Rishabh Pant for KL Rahul for INR 14 Crore. He will be expected to lead the Capitals for the upcoming season. Another big change occurred in Punjab Kings where they bought former KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer for a price tag of INR 26.75 Crore.

IPL 2025 is expected to be another thrilling season because of multiple changes in every squad. Another big reason for IPL’s thrilling season will be the participation of overseas players. There will be some new entries in the league this year and in this article, we have listed down 5 new overseas faces who will be making their debut for IPL in 2025.

1) Ryan Rickelton - South Africa

South Africa’s T20 specialist batsman and former Rugby player - Ryan Rickelton is all set to make his debut in the Indian Premier League at the age of 28. Rickelton made headlines as a hard-hitter for the Proteas squad this year and during his run with the U-19 squad. In 2024, Ryan Rickelton has been the 6th highest run-scorer in the T20 format and 2nd highest for South Africa. He was sold to Mumbai Indians for a price tag of INR 1 Crore.

2) Josh Inglis - Australia

Australian players have always shown pro-activeness in their participation in the Indian Premier League. This year Josh Inglis is one of the new Australian faces who will be making his debut in the league. He was sold to Punjab Kings for a price tag of INR 2 Crore. As an opening batter, Inglis will be responsible for giving the Kings a solid start in every fixture. He is an exceptional batsman to face the pace attack and can do major damage at the start of the game.
 

3) Xavier Bartlett - Australia

Xavier Bartlett is one of those players who have been knocking on the doors of IPL franchises for the past few years. His performance in Australia’s Big Bash League has been exceptional but somehow no franchise was interested in buying the talented young pacer. However, things have finally worked out for Bartlett and he will be seen playing for Punjab Kings as they bought him for a price tag of INR 80 lakh.

4) Matthew Breetzke - South Africa

Matthew Breetzke became another Proteas player to make his debut for the Indian Premier League. He was sold to Lucknow Super Giants for a price tag of INR 75 Lakhs. Breetzke has a good experience in T20 cricket and he is the 4th highest run-scorer in the T20 format in 2024 playing with different T20 cricket leagues across the globe. He is a wicket-keeper batsman but with Pant in the team, Breetzke might not get a chance to be behind the wickets.

5) Jacob Bethell - England

England’s young and upcoming batter Jacob Bethell became part of the Indian Premier League at the age of 21. He was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 2 Crore. Bethell carries very little experience in T20 cricket leagues but considering his debut for England in T20i, he will be a key player for Bangalore.
