These 5 Players Have Been out of IPL 2025 So Far

There was a huge gap of 4 months between the IPL 2025 mega auction and the beginning of the new season. In these 4 months, things can actually go wrong with a player because of other commitments in the sport.

A similar situation occurred as we reached closer to the start of the 18th season of IPL. In recent weeks, there are some players who have announced their withdrawal from the league because of their injuries or personal commitments.

At this final hour of the preparations, it becomes difficult for the franchises to replace a player and bring in an equally efficient player to the team. These end-moment withdrawals also impact the overall odds of a team on the IPL betting websites in India. In this article, we bring you a list of players who have announced their unavailability for IPL 2025 and the players by whom they have been replaced.

1) Umran Malik - Kolkata Knight Riders - Chetan Sakariya

Umran Malik has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons in the last year. During IPL 2023, the speedster stunned everyone with his ferocious bowling but immediately after that, his downfall began as he failed to perform in the international set-up. Umran Malik received another blow as he will be missing out on the complete season of IPL 2025 because of an injury. He was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders through the auctions for INR 75 Lakhs but the efforts have gone in vain.

Kolkata Knight Riders team management immediately took action and replaced Umran with Chetan Sakariya who last played in IPL 2023 with Rajasthan Royals. Sakariya is known for his pace and accuracy in the league and carries a good experience of death over bowling. It is also an opportunity for Chetan to make an impact in the league and revive his international career.

2) Lizaad Williams - Mumbai Indians - Corbin Bosch

Lizaad Williams, the Proteas pacer, was signed by Mumbai Indians during the auctions. However, the 31-year-old pacer has withdrawn from the league because of a knee injury. He was expected to become a lethal attack for Mumbai in combination with Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah. However, things have gone off the track and now Williams won’t be seen for the entire season.

To replace Lizaad Williams, Mumbai Indians have signed his team-mate Corbin Bosch who is a fast bowling all-rounder. Corbin Bosch was part of PSL 2025 but he has withdrawn from the competition and now the player is all set to make his debut in the big league. Corbin’s availability in the team will give Mumbai Indians an extra depth in their batting unit.

3) Brydon Carse - Sunrisers Hyderabad - Wiaan Mulder

Brydon Carse has been in the news for all the right reasons in international cricket. England has finally managed to find a dependable pace bowler who can scalp wickets in the early hours of the game. It is because of the same reasons, Sunrisers Hyderabad signed him from the mega auctions but he won’t be playing the season because of a toe injury. We won’t see the lethal combination of Pat Cummins, Mohammad Shami, and Brydon Carse in the league anymore.

Instead of Brydon Carse, Sunrisers Hyderabad will have the Proteas pacer Wiaan Mulder. The 27-year-old has been part of the Proteas squad since 2019 and has been an impactful bowler in international cricket.

4) Allah Ghazanfar - Mumbai Indians - Mujeeb-ur-Rahman

Mumbai Indians have suffered another blow as Allah Ghazanfar has picked up a back injury and he won’t be available to play IPL 2025. The Afghan spinner was supposed to be the highlight of the team because of his recent performance in international cricket.

To replace him, Mumbai Indians team management has signed Mujeeb-ur-Rehman. Mujeeb-ur-Rehman is an equally efficient spinner who can dismantle any side during the middle overs. He is one of the most demanded spinner when it comes to the T20 cricket league across the globe and Mumbai Indians have signed the right replacement.
