With match 28 seeing sixth placed Canterbury Kings and second placed Northern Brave locking horns, everything will still be up for grabs when this game, match 29, gets underway on Wednesday afternoon!
Central Stags have been excellent throughout this year's tournament and the poor weather in their last two games which has prevented them from picking up additional points has still not stopped them from booking their place in this year's final. If anything, it may have just made the team more hungry whilst allowing them some rest ahead of the final fixtures.
Auckland Aces lost at home to Wellington Firebirds on Monday, a game which if they had won would have moved them into the top three, but it all means that nothing less than a victory will be sufficient for them in this clash.

Some pundits think that the rain which has brought a premature end to both of Central Stags' last two games has been a blessing for the side who looked on course for a humiliating defeat against Canterbury Kings on Sunday.
After batting for 11 overs, the table-toppers were 45/6 and surely staring down the barrel of a defeat with Curtis Heaphy, who was 12 not out, the only player to make it to double-figures!
Fortunately for the Stags, this pitch at McLean Park should be much more batter friendly and the likes of Will Young, Jack Boyle, Dane Ceaver and captain Tom Bruce won't have to deal with the awkward bounce of someone like Kyle Jamieson.
As for the bowlers, Blair Tickner will be ready to lead the attack, particularly after resting fr 12 days following his figures of 4/23 in match 17.

After wins against Wellington Firebirds in match 20 and Otago Volts in match 23, Auckland Aces looked set to sneak into the top three and be well placed with the end of the group stage approaching. Furthermore, they would have been entering the finals in the best form of all the sides but a six wicket loss, with four balls remaining, put pay to that idea on Monday.
If Sean Solia's side are to make a last minute push for the top three then they must win this game and they will need one of their top five to go on and make a big score - something which none of them were able to do despite making double figures against the Firebirds.
Even if the Aces are not able to take one of the top three positions, they have already unearthed a future star of New Zealand cricket this season in 21 year old right-arm medium-fast Angus Olliver. He took his best figures of the tournament, 3/28 in the defeat on Monday and has brought his T20 strike-rate down to a brilliant 11.4.

It looks like being a lovely day in Napier with the temperature up at 28 degrees at the start of the contest at McLean Park. It could get a little humid later into the evening with the chance of a short shower in the second innings of the game.
When the clouds come over in Napier it is always easier for the bowlers but overall this is an excellent batting wicket and a par first innings score will be in the region of 180 - 200 runs.
This is an excellent batting wicket in Napier and both teams will be keen to get first use of the strip. Therefore, we predict that both captains will want to bat first on Wednesday.
Auckland Aces have shown plenty of character to get back in the hunt for a top three finish, and in Angus Olliver have a bowler who many are talking about, but this may prove to be one game too many. Central Stags have a fresh bowling attack and we expect that to be key in this game and are predicting another win for them to end the group stage.
