It has been an exciting conclusion to the group stage of the 2024/25 Marsh One-Day Cup and ahead of this final round of fixtures the teams in second, third and fourth could all finish in the top two!
Beginning this match in second place, one point ahead of Queensland in third and a further two points ahead of Victoria in fourth, New South Wales have the best chance to progress but neither themselves of Victoria are in particularly good form.
When the sides met in the Marsh One-Day Cup in October, it was New South Wales who came out on top by a 140 run margin, but they will be without Steven Smith who hit a very useful 56 from 53 balls in that game.
They also had Pat Cummins in the side for that fixture and he will also be missed this time around.

New South Wales put in a good showing in their last game but came up short against Queensland in Brisbane when chasing 311 to win. Ahead of this game they will be looking for more from across their bowling attack as well as a wide range of contributions with the bat.
Sam Konstas has certainly had a breakthrough year at the top of the order and it was no surprise to see him top score as New South Wales threatened to reach their target at one stage early on in the chase.
With Konstas at the top of the order, New South Wales will always have a chance and alongside Josh Philippe they make for an attacking and entertaining pair.
Jack Nisbet was the pick of the bowlers in their last match, returning figures of 4/49 and he will be key for New South Wales' hopes with the ball when this game gets underway on Sunday.

After seeing Konstas successfully reverse-scoop Scott Boland in the first over of his innings during the Sheffield Shield clash between the sides last week, it will be very interesting to see that particular match-up in this game!
The Australian bowling international finished that Shield game with a 10-wicket haul and he will be keen to show the national selectors exactly what they are missing out on with another strong performance in this match.
With the bat, Sam Harper and all-rounder Thomas Rogers come into this fixture with the most confidence and although Marcus Harris continues to struggle in shorter formats, he could equally deliver a solid knock again in this clash.
Harry Dixon will continue to open with Peter Hanscomb a quality player at number four in the order.

There will be the odd spot of cloud and humidity levels will be around 50% throughout the opening hours of this game but in the second half of the day we can expect heavier cloud and much more humidity to take over.
Cricket Central is an excellent venue for spectators and players alike with a par score in the first innings likely to be around 290-300. There will be good pace but also some lateral movement for the quicks to exploit.
There will be something for the bowlers throughout this game but the best time to have the ball in hand will be late in the day. Therefore we predict that both captains will want to bowl first.
Both teams have been on poor runs and they will want to win this game to also carry some momentum into the final. With the experienced pair of Peter Siddle and Scott Boland in the bowling attack, we think Victoria will come out on top.
We are backing Victoria to win!
