It is going to be an interesting clash between Perth Scorchers, currently placed third from the top, and Adelaide Strikers, placed third from the bottom. The men in Orange, having not lost a match yet, will be pushing hard to move up the table to improve their odds of finishing in the top two.
Strikers will be seeking to improve too. Barring the odd win they produced against the bottom-placed Thunder in their most recent match, their tournament hasn’t progressed as well as they’d have liked. Halfway thru the competition they’re nowhere near making the top four.
Having gone down to Perth Scorchers four times out of five in their most recent encounters, Adelaide Strikers will be hoping to turn things around at the Perth Stadium.

Perth Scorchers won by 7 wkts
Their first game at Geelong was abandoned because the pitch there was deemed too dangerous to play cricket, but Perth have come off from that with 3 wins in 3 matches. True to their billing as favourites, they have been one of the in-form teams in the tournament and are among the only two teams to have not been beaten so far.
Despite losing 7-5 in the space of 18 balls against Renegades the other night, they got over the line and collected two crucial points. So they’d be desperate to put in another convincing performance on the board and keep that winning streak going for a little longer though. They’re a well-rounded unit with several players who have played their part in the team for a long time now.
Their batting is top-heavy, and they are getting the job done for the moment. Perth Scorchers, however, would like their middle order batsmen to get some runs under their belt and be better prepared for clashes with stronger opponents in Heat and Sixers. Their bowling unit has all bases covered with several players with international caps in the mix.
They’ve got six legitimate bowling options, each bringing something different. Swing, seam, spin, pace- they’ve got it all and the best part is, most of them are in good touch.
Cooper Connolly, Zak Crawley, Aaron Hardie (c), Josh Inglis (wk), Laurie Evans, Nick Hobson, Ashton Agar, Jhye Richardson, Andrew Tye, Jason Behrendorff, Lance Morris.

Adelaide Strikers’ only win of this tournament came against the team lingering in the bottom of the table. That’s not a good sign, but at least it helped them snap a losing rut. That win against Sydney Thunder would have helped them regain some confidence, because they’re going to need it.
They’re scheduled to play Perth Scorchers twice this week, and a loss in both matches will dent their chances of qualifying to the knockouts. Their top order has put them in winning positions in most of the matches, but their bowling has let them down completely. Their bowlers have conceded 200 runs in two of the four matches they’ve played so far and haven’t been able to skittle out the opposition once. Wes Agar, in particular, has been woefully out of form, and is unable to create the impact he had on the team in the previous editions.
Absence of star spinner Rashid Khan is clearly felt but Cam Boyce, the stand-in leggie, has been economical and kept things tight on most occasions. Him or some other bowlers needs to come to the fore and take wickets during critical junctures of the game to help Strikers run through the opponents.
Matthew Short (c), D Arcy Short, Chris Lynn, Adam Hose, Jamie Overton, Harry Nielsen (wk), James Bazley, Ben Manenti, Wes Agar, Brendan Doggett, Cameron Boyce.

It's a good cricketing wicket here at Perth where the pitch here offers good pace and bounce to bowlers and there's plenty of runs on offer to batters too. Weather forecast doesn’t look concerning at the moment so there is a good chance that we get a full game without rain interfering in between.

Minimal TurnThis match is being played at the Perth Stadium also known as the Optus Stadium. A happy hunting ground for the hosts, Perth Scorchers have looked unbeatable at times here in many seasons.
Teams have had more success chasing here in the Perth Stadium. But the struggle of Adelaide Strikers bowlers may actually encourage Perth Scorchers to consider batting first although they clearly fancy chasing here.
Perth Scorchers at home is a different beast. Adelaide Strikers look depleted and don’t have enough ammunition in their tank to defeat them, so Perth Scorchers are likely to win this contest and extend their unbeaten start this season.
Our prediction is for Perth Scorchers to win this contest!
