Gujarat then had to go through Qualifier 1 where they beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets to set up this match-up.
These two teams were the strongest teams in the league phase. Both sides accumulated 18 points each but RCB pipped GT to the top of the table spot on a slight net run rate advantage.
This season, there have been three matches between the two sides with both teams winning one game each during the league phase while RCB beat GT in the qualifier. Overall, there have been 9 matches between the two teams and RCB lead slightly with 5 wins to Gujarat’s 4 wins.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have been undoubtedly the best team in the IPL 2026 season. They have dominated the competition in all fronts, be it with the bat or ball. The Rajat Patidar led side finished top of the points table with 9 wins and 5 losses and then crushed Gujarat Titans on their way to the Final.
Batting first, RCB scored 254 runs in the Qualifier 1 vs the Titans in Dharamshala. Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya both contributed with 43 runs. But the real spotlight was on captain Patidar. The middle-order batter slammed 93 runs off 33 balls at a strike rate of 281.82, hitting 5 fours and a staggering 9 sixes. Later, a total bowling display ensured GT were bowled out for 162 and RCB went through the Final with a 92 runs victory.
This has been the highlight of their campaign. RCB have delivered big with the bat with batters like Virat Kohli, Patidar, Padikkal all making serious contributions then the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Krunal Pandya run through the opposition batting line-up.
As usual, Virat Kohli is the top run scorer for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026 season. The former India and RCB skipper has maintained his status as the best in business, scoring 600 runs, also shutting the talks about his poor strike rate, scoring at a rate of 164.38.
He has had three opening partners alongside him. Initially Phil Salt was his opening partner who scored 202 runs in 6 innings. The English batter then sustained an injury and was replaced by fellow countryman Jacob Bethell, he disappointed massively scoring only 96 runs in 7 innings.
However, Bethell has been ruled out completely after he sustained a blow against KKR. He was then replaced by Venkatesh Iyer. The left-hand batter has been impressive having scored 177 runs in 5 innings at a strike rate of 184.38, including his best performance of 73 off 40 balls vs Punjab Kings. Phil Salt has recovered from injury and it will be exciting to see whether he is included in the playing XI.
Captain Rajat Patidar had a fiery start to the campaign but then cooled down a bit in the middle phase of the competition. But the RCB skipper has now scored back-to-back half-centuries in the last two games, including an outstanding performance of 93 off 33 balls vs GT in Q1.
Other top batting contributors include Devdutt Padikkal, Tim David and Krunal Pandya. Padikkal has lived-up to his impact player role scoring 463 runs while David and Pandya have scored 281 and 225 runs respectively.
With the ball, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been aging like a fine wine. At the age of 36, he is still displaying that class is permanent. In this modern era of the game, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has bagged 26 wickets in 15 matches. Alongside him, uncapped Indian pacer Rasikh Salam has been the find of the season. The Jammu & Kashmir pacer has taken 16 wickets in 11 matches. Meanwhile, Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood has been a little underwhelming this season, taking 13 wickets in 12 games.
RCB have a solid pace bowling attack, especially those who specialise in change of pace and cutters. Then, Krunal Pandya has been hugely impressive with his spin bowling. Pandya has been bowling a difficult line, length combined with change of pace and most interestingly, his bouncers have been a huge success, taking 14 wickets so far. Suyash Sharma also has taken 9 wickets.
Devdutt Padikkal Score Over 24.5 @ 1.85
In his last five innings Padikkal scored 30, 21, 45, 39 and 12, crossing 24 in three of them. His record against GT is modest at 204 runs in 10 games at 20.4, and at Narendra Modi Stadium he has 101 runs in 6 games at 16.83. Still, he has gone over 24 in seven of his last 10 matches.
Virat Kohli Total Runs Over 32.5 @ 1.85
Virat Kohli looks set to clear 32.5 runs. He has 600 runs this season and is in fine touch, with scores of 105, 81 and 58 recently. His record against GT is excellent, with 503 runs at a 71.86 average and four fifties. As a proven big-match player, we back Kohli to score over 32.5 runs in today's match.

Gujarat Titans are back in the IPL Final scenes for the first time after last appearing in the final 2023 which they lost to CSK. The Titans will take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in this final match scheduled at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the home ground for Gujarat Titans.
Gujarat Titans have had to go through an extra step to book their clash in the ultimate game of the season. The Titans lost to RCB in the Qualifier 1 and had to overcome the challenge posed by Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 2 to secure this Final match.
It was a dominating display from the Shubman Gill led side. They restricted Rajasthan Royals to 214 runs with Holder and Rabada taking 2 wickets each. Later, captain Gill scored 104 and formed an opening partnership of 167 runs with Sai Sudarshan to record a 7 wickets victory for the Titans.
The Gujarat Titans' success very much depends on their top three batters. Captain Shubman Gill is the leading run scorer for the team with 722 runs in 15 innings at a strike rate of 163.72. He has an equally matched opening partner in Sai Sudarshan. The left-hand batter has scored 710 runs at a strike rate of 159.55.
Veteran batter Jos Buttler then at number three continues the brilliant work done by the openers. Buttler himself has scored 507 runs in 16 innings at a scoring rate of 157.45. Otherwise, the batters have struggled to add decent contributions, except for Washington Sundar. The all-rounder has got a promotion this season and scored 327 runs while Rahul Tewatia has scored 183 runs.
Gujarat Titans have the best bowling line-up in this IPL 2026 season. Kagiso Rabada is the top wicket-taker and leads the purple cap chart with 28 wickets for the South African speedster.
Indian pace duo of Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna bring the threat from the other end. Siraj has taken 18 wickets this season while Krishna has contributed with 16 wickets. Jason Holder has been a big surprise package in the GT bowling setup this season. The veteran was picked as a squad player but once he got into the playing XI, he sealed his position with 17 wickets for the former West Indies skipper.
Afghanistan international Rashid Khan had his worst IPL season last year but he has let everyone know why he is one of best spin bowlers of this generation, making a comeback with 19 wickets so far this season. He has been wicketless in the playoffs so far, could be saving his best for the most important game.
Sai Sudharsan Total Runs Over 32.5 @ 1.85
Sai Sudharsan is in superb form and should comfortably clear 32.5 runs. He has six fifties in his last seven games, including a brilliant 100 against RCB and an 87 against CSK. At Narendra Modi Stadium he has been excellent too, with 1271 runs at a 50.84 average and ten fifties there. Batting at the top gives him time to build a big score, so if he survives the powerplay he should pass 50 with ease.
Shubman Gill Score Over 30.5 @ 1.90
Shubman Gill is a strong pick to go over 30.5 runs. At Narendra Modi Stadium he has 1374 runs at a 49.07 average, with three hundreds and seven fifties there. He also comes into this game on the back of a brilliant 104 against RR.

The pitch at Narendra Modi Stadium is a batting-friendly surface with a flat, true bounce and excellent carry that allows batters to play their shots confidently from the start. The large but fast outfield helps the ball race away, often producing high-scoring matches. Pacers get some swing and bounce with the new ball in the powerplay, while spinners receive decent grip and turn in the middle overs. Dew can sometimes play a role under lights, favoring the chasing side. This season, the average first innings score has been around 186.
RCB to win the coin toss @ 1.90
We back RCB to win the coin toss in today's match against GT
Given the high stakes of the game, the captain who wins the toss would likely to bowl first. Both sides want the opposition to bat first and try to restrict close 200 and later chase the target with dew likely to come into play in the 2nd inning especially.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru are favorites to win IPL 2026 Final against Gujarat Titans. Defending champions RCB come with massive momentum after a 92-run thrashing of GT in Qualifier 1. Virat Kohli (600 runs), explosive Rajat Patidar, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (26 wickets) lead a complete unit. GT boast a strong top order and the best bowling unit of the season including Purple cap leader Kagiso Rabada (28 wickets). But if any sort of early collapse happens, then GT will be in deep trouble.
