There is still another week to go in the 2025 SA20 group stage and everything is still to play for with the top four going through to the play-offs and ahead of Thursday's game, Durban's Super Giants are bottom but just two points from fourth place.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape, who won the tournament in 2024, have shown that momentum is a big part of T20 cricket and after losing their opening three games of this campaign are now targeting their fourth victory on the bounce. Furthermore, they have picked up three bonus points and ahead of Thursday's fixture find themselves only one place from the top of the table.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape Preview

When a team gets on a winning run, it doesn't seem to matter who they play against or even how their top order performs! This is certainly the case for Sunrisers Eastern Cape at the moment in this edition of the SA20 who found themselves 1/0, 9/2 and 14/3 against Paarl Capitals yet still managed to emerge with a commanding 52 run victory.

There will still be concerns over the form of Zak Crawley who opens the innings as he fell for a two-ball duck on Wednesday and has been dismissed for a single figure score in three of his last four knocks in the tournament. This is not just a recent issue for the England international as he averages only 9.83 from his last 12 innings in T20 cricket.

After posting 146/6 when batting first against Paarl Royals in match 15 on Monday, Joburg Super Kings looked to be in the contest but fell to a six wicket defeat with five balls remaining. As a result, the batting line-up could well be reshuffled in this match as Faf du Plessis' side look to make more of an impact when they are putting runs on the board.

New Zealand international Devon Conway could drop down the order with former England international Jonny Bairstow a candidate to open. The right-hander took the Player of the Match award in the defeat against the Royals and has hit over 100 runs across his last two innings in the 2025 SA20.
