Brentford FC vs Nottingham Forest FC Match Prediction & Analysis

Brentford and Nottingham Forest both ended extended spells without victory in midweek, although Forest’s win was arguably more important seeing as the club is fighting relegation.

The home side have been one of the most enjoyable teams to watch across large sections of the season, although they suffered a dip by going six games without a win.

Thomas Frank will be pleased with how his side responded in midweek, going to a troubled Chelsea and winning 2-0. It keeps them in the hunt for European places, although they need a significant turnaround.

Nearer the bottom of the table, Nottingham Forest clambered out of the bottom three with a dramatic 3-1 win over Brighton in midweek. 

With four teams, including Forest, within two points of one another, it’s set up to be a thrilling final few weeks of the season.

Thomas Frank will be pleased at how his players bounced back from their winless run to claim victory at Chelsea, even if their opponents are playing dismal football right now.

At home, the Bees are often too strong for visiting teams, having won seven, drawn seven and lost just two of their 16 matches this season.

Nottingham Forest are desperate for points, so Brentford will need to keep their levels high in order to claim victory.

The Bees are also having to cope with a number of injury concerns currently. Jansson and Lewis-Potter are out for the season, while Norgaard and Strakosha are also sidelined.

They saw just 27% possession against Chelsea, which helped them counter on the Blues efficiently. They’ll have a lot more here and will need to be patient to break Forest down.

Nottingham Forest gave themselves a lifeline by beating Brighton in midweek, climbing out of the bottom three in the process. 

It may still not be enough to save them this season, with the likes of Leicester, Everton and Leeds all battling for points at the bottom.

Forest’s away form has been troubling to say the least, having claimed just a single victory on their travels, scoring just seven goals and earning six points in the process.

A win here would be a surprise, especially considering Brentford’s away form, but Steve Cooper’s would be in a promising position if they could.
