Team India is coming back into action in international cricket and now the focus has been shifted to the red-ball format. A 2-match Test series is scheduled to take place at home starting the 1st Test on 19th September at MA Chidambaram stadium.
BCCI has announced a 16-member squad for the Bangladesh series. Rohit Sharma will be leading the team and his next goal will be to reach the final match of the ongoing World Test Championship.
India will play 10 Test fixtures in the upcoming months. Out of these 10 fixtures, India needs 8 wins to reach the final match of WTC. A series win against Bangladesh will be a huge boost for the 2-time finalists.

Jasprit Bumrah Dropped as Vice-Captain
India’s pace master Jasprit Bumrah is making a comeback to the team. He was on a well-deserved break since the T20 World Cup.
BCCI has chosen to remove Bumrah from the position of Vice-Captain. BCCI has not mentioned any name for the position. However, his removal from the position was a surprise to all the cricket experts.
Bumrah was a key conspirator for India’s win in the T20 World Cup 2024. He was also a key contributor for Team India against England in the Test series held earlier this year.

The Return of Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul
A major boost to team India will be the return of Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul in the team. Pant was out of red-call cricket action since his career-threatening accident in December 2022. He was last seen playing against Bangladesh itself at Mirpur.
KL Rahul will be in the spotlight for Team India. He was last seen playing against England in January in Test format. KL Rahul was out of action in international cricket because of his injuries.
