IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Is Ashwin Coming Back Home to CSK?

IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Is Ashwin Coming Back Home to CSK?

The retention list of all the franchises for IPL 2025 has been released. Some names were expected but some releases came out as a shock. One of the biggest shocks was the release of Ravichandran Ashwin from the Rajasthan Royals squad.

R Ashwin was part of the Rajasthan Royals camp for 3 seasons. He was signed during the IPL 2022 mega auctions and since then the Indian star spinner has been associated with the team.

However, the two parties have parted ways and it is an opportunity for the rest of the franchises to sign R Ashwin for IPL 2025. Out of all the franchises, Chennai Super Kings stands at the top in signing the player for the upcoming IPL season through IPL mega auctions.

R Ashwin started his IPL career with Chennai Super Kings in 2008 under the leadership of MS Dhoni. For 7 years he served the franchise and in 2016 joined Rising Pune Supergiants. He also played with Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in between before joining Rajasthan Royals in 2022.

Chennai Super Kings is home to R Ashwin. Considering their historical association and experience with the lege, the management might look forward to signing him at any price. The online IPL betting will have the best odds for CSK if they sign R Ashwin for their bowling unit.

Why Should CSK Sign R Ashwin?

1) R Ashwin Performance With CSK

Ashwin joined Chennai Super Kings in 2008 but played his first fixture in the 2009 season. He has learned and improved as an individual contributor under CSK management. Ashwin became a complete package in IPL after playing consistently for 7 years for Chennai Super Kings.

2) Jadeja and Ashwin Factor

The combination of Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin is lethal in Indian cricket. The duo has played with each other numerous times and if Chennai Super Kings sign Ashwin, they will have a major advantage in IPL 2025 over other teams. With Ashwin and Jadeja in the team, they will successfully control the run rate of the opposition during the middle overs. Even though Ashwin has not played much of T20 international cricket in recent times, he still carries the capability to be an economical bowler.
