The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign ended for Pakistan at an early note. They were eliminated at the group stage and the critics have again questioned the right combination of the team. The best betting apps already had unfavorable odds for Pakistan in the tournament.
After the devastating end of the Champions Trophy, the Pakistan cricket team will travel to New Zealand for a 5-match T20 international and a 3-match ODI series. The two teams have played an immense amount of cricket against each other in the last one year and they know each other’s game fairly well.
Pakistan tour to New Zealand will begin with the T20I series. The selection committee has done some major changes in the squad, including selecting a new captain for the series.
The T20i series will mark the beginning of a new era under the leadership of Salman Ali Agha. Making him the new skipper of the T20I squad is a hopeful step in order to bring in a positive change for Pakistan cricket.
Shadab Khan - who was absent from the national team, has also made his comeback to the squad. His presence as an all-rounder will be valuable for the team against the Kiwis. Shadab is known for his lower-order batting and variations in the spin attack.
Experienced players like Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam are absent from the T20 squad but Shaheen Afridi will be part of the team in the shortest format. However, he will remain absent from the ODI series.
In this article, we bring you a detailed analysis of Pakistan’s T20 squad for the T20I series and the winning odds for New Zealand vs Pakistan T20I series from the betting websites in India.

SWOT Analysis of Pakistan Cricket Team
Strength
Pakistan will be traveling with a reliable bowling attack and that is their asset. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf will be the leading pace duo for the team and they will be expected to give the team a good start. Naseem Shah’s absence will hurt the team but newly added Jahandad Khan will be expected to rise for the occasion.

Pakistan has also been tactical while selecting their spin attack. They will have Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan as their primary spin duo. Shadab is making a comeback to the team after a year and he will be hungry to make his return a positive one. Abrar Ahmed had a good outing while playing at home for the Champions Trophy.

Weakness
In the T20i series, Pakistan will be without their experienced players. They have completely changed the lineup and hence the team chemistry might be impacted against New Zealand.
Hasan Nawaz, Omair Yousuf, Mohammad Haris, and Abdul Samad are part of the squad but leaving Rizwan and Babar out of the squad might cost the team. While playing on international pitches, Pakistan needs a backbone in the form of its experienced batters.
Opportunity
The return of Shadab Khan and Mohammad Haris in the T20i squad is a big opportunity for the team. These two bowlers have been an asset in every condition and they will be expected to perform as match-winners against the Kiwis in an away set up. They both carry an immense amount of experience for international cricket and can handle the pressure in any situation.
Weakness
The appointment of Salman Ali Agha as the new T20i skipper is the biggest weakness for the team. He has very little experience of T20i format and the young skipper might fail to make decisions when his team needs him to step up the game.
