2014-2015 - Captain Kohli’s Rise

The 2014-15 Test series between India and Australia was iconic for the Indian fans. In that series, Virat Kohli took charge of the Indian side in the longest format. India struggled in the series but led the team from the front. In the first Test in Adelaide, Kohli scored centuries in both innings. In the third Test match, Virat Kohli played a fabulous knock of 169 runs in the first innings. In the fourth Test match, Kohli added another thrilling century. 

In the entire Test series, the Australian side showcased their well-known dominance. In front of their excellence, the Indian bowlers failed to make an impact. After facing two straight defeats in the first two Test matches of the series, Team India tried to fight back. 

In the last two Test matches, Team India bounced back and drawn those matches. After the third Test, MS Dhoni bid adieu to the longest format, and Kohli took charge as the longest-format captain of Team India.  Australia ended the series with a 2-0 Win. 

2017 - The Dominance of India on Home Soil

The Test series between India and Australia was a thrilling one for the home side. Australia traveled to India for a four-match Test series. The first match of the series was a huge disappointment for the Team India. Australia triumphed with a massive 333-run win. Aussie player Steve O’Keefe secured 6 wickets in the first innings and another 6 wickets in the second innings. In the second innings, the Aussie skipper Steve Smith played another thrilling knock of 109 runs. With that, they registered a massive win. 

As the second match of the series unfolded at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Team India bounced back strongly. In the first innings, KL Rahul’s crucial inning of 90 runs gave a big hope to the team. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja registered an impressive 6-wicket haul. In the second innings, Pujara played a solid knock of 92 runs. Ashwin secured a 6-wicket haul in the second innings. With that domination, India won the match by 75 runs. 

The third Test match between these two teams witnessed another thrilling contest. Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell’s century boosted Australia’s score in the first innings. But the home side kept their domination alive.  With bat and ball, Team India dominated them and registered a victory. They won the series by a 2-1 margin. 

2018-2019 - India Truimphs Australia Down Under

The 2018-19 season of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy was the most special one for the Indian fans. Before that season, India registered a Test series win on their home soil but in the 2018-19 season, they registered their first-ever Test series win on Australian soil. Team India kickstart their campaign with a 31-run win. Cheteswar Pujara played a crucial knock of 123 runs in the first innings. He also added crucial 71 runs in the second innings. The bowlers played a dominating game and helped to secure the win. 

In the second match, Australia bounced back. They put on a total of 326 runs in the first innings. But the India pacers showcased their excellence even in the tough situation. They secured 8 wickets in the first innings. Virat Kohli played a crucial knock of 123 runs. The Australian side played dominating gave with both bat and ball. They defeated India by 146 runs. 

After that disappointing defeat, Team India bounced back in the next match. In the first match, Virat Kohli, Cheteswar Pujara, and Mayank Agarwal’s exceptional knocks boosted India’s innings. Along with that, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja played a dominating game. In the second match, India’s pace trio, Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah secured 7 wickets together, with that absolute dominance, India registered a 137-run win. Even though the fourth match ended in a tie, Team India won the series by a 2-1 margin. 

2020-21 - The Demolishon of Gabba & Australia

The Gabba Stadium in Brisbane is Australia’s den as the home side was unbeaten at this venue. But the 2020-21 Test series between India and Australia shattered the record. Both teams faced off at the Adelaide Oval in the first Test match of the series. The Aussie excellence shined in the match.

Despite Virat Kohli’s responsible knock of 74 runs, the Australian bowlers dominated the game. The Starc-Cummins duo secured 7 wickets in the first innings. In the second innings, Team India got all out in just 36 runs. Josh Hazelwood registered a thrilling five-wicket haul. With that domination, Australia sealed the match by 8 wickets.  

In the second match, Team India bounced back. While bowling in the first innings, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin showcased their dominating side. While batting in the first innings, Ajiyanka Rahane played a knock of 112 runs. Ravindra Jadeja scored an impressive half-century. Shubman Gill added crucial 45 runs. In the second innings, Team India kept their domination alive. With that dominance, Team India registered an 8-wicket win. 

The third match ended in a tie. After that, both teams locked horns at the iconic Gabba Stadium to decide the fate of the series. While batting first, Marnus Labuschagne played a knock of 108 runs. The Indian bowlers showcased excellence. T Natarajan and Washington Sundar secured 3 wickets each. While batting in the first innings, Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar, and Rohit Sharma played crucial knocks. 

In the second innings, the Indian bowlers showcased pure dominance. In the absence of some senior members, the youngsters conquered. In the second innings, Mohammed Siraj secured an impressive 5-wicket haul. Shardul Thakur secured 4 wickets. While chasing the winning total, Shubman Gill played an outstanding knock of 91 runs. Cheteswar Pujara scored another half-century. But Rishabh Pant’s unbeaten 89 runs innings sealed the win. With that, India won the match by 3 wickets and bagged the series. 

2023- India's Dominance on Home Soil Continues

The start of the year 2023 became special as the fans witnessed another thrilling Test series between India and Australia.  Nagpur hosted the first match of the series. In the match, Team India totally thrived. They played a dominating game. While bowling first, Jadeja secured a crucial 5-wicket haul. While batting, Rohit Sharma played a knock of 120 runs. Ravindra Jadeja added a crucial 70-run knock. Those knocks boosted India’s innings. In the second innings, Ravichandran Ashwin secured a 5-wicket haul. With that dominance, Team India won the match by an innings and 132 runs. 

In the second match, Team India kept the domination alive. While batting first, Usman Khwaja and Peter Handscomb played crucial knocks. While bowling first, Mohammad Shami secured a 4-wicket haul. While batting first, Axar Patel played a crucial knock of 74 runs. The Indian bowlers Carried on their dominating form. Jadeja secured 7 wickets in the second inning. Team India chased down the winning total and won the match by 6 wickets. 

After two consecutive defeats, Australia bounced back in the third Test match of the series. Team India got all out in just 109 runs in the first innings. Aussie bowler Kuhnemann secured an impressive 5-wicket haul. Nathan Lyon secured 3 wickets. While batting first, Usman Khwaja played a knock of 60 runs. Jadeja took 4 wickets in the first innings. Team India’s batting struggle continued in the second innings. But Punjara added crucial 59 runs on the board. But Nathan Lyon nailed the game. He secured 8 wickets in the second innings. With that domination, Australia won the match by 9 wickets. 

The last Test of the series was a thrilling one. While batting first, the Aussie squad gave a great start. Usman Khwaja played a knock of 180 runs. Cameron Green secured another impressive century. In that crucial situation, Ravichandran Ashwin secured 6 wickets. While batting in the first innings, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli nailed the game. Gill scored 128 runs. On the flip side, Kohli played an exceptional knock of 186 runs. But disappointingly, the match ended in a tie.
