Sri Lanka Set to Host India and South Africa for ODI Tri-Series in April-May 2025

Women ODI Tri-Series to be hosted by Sri Lanka for South Africa and India squads. Tentative dates for the Women’s championship will be around April and May.
The upcoming Women’s ODI series is crucial for the upcoming World Cup, which will be scheduled later this year. Sri Lanka has already been making preparations for the event, as confirmed in a report released on March 6.
Tri-Series Event Underway for Sri Lanka, South Africa and India
The upcoming event will commence on April 27 amongst the three leading women's cricket squads.
- Harmanpreet Kaur, the Captain of Indian squad is gearing up the players to practise and push limits before the main event begins.
- Every team in the tournament has to play around four group games in the league. After that, the leading two teams will contest for the finals on May 11.
- Reports reveal that all the matches will be held as ‘Day Games’ in Sri Lanka’s Colombo = by R. Premadasa stadium.
- SA, India, and Sri Lanka have already steered qualifiers for the ICC Women’s World Cup Championship by marking an entry into the top eight squads.
Sri Lanka to Face India in ODIs after NZ Tour
Reportedly, Sri Lanka Cricket stated that the ODI Tri-Series is set to feature in Colombo, and the host team has to contest with Leading women’s cricket team India.
- Later developments in the schedules and matches will be updated as the time nears. The final list of playing XI is also yet to be out and fans are excited to witness the action-packed cricket from stands.
- A unique aspect of this tri-series event is that all games will be ‘Day Games,’ and teams don’t have to play in the evenings.
- The tournament is also observed as a development to prepare for the 13th season of the ODI World Cup Women’s, which is scheduled for later this year.
With the Women's ODI Tri-Series set to take place, cricket analysts have already begun making cricket betting prediction on which team will dominate the tournament. India, with its strong batting lineup, and South Africa, known for its resilience, are among the top contenders. However, Sri Lanka, playing at home, might spring surprises, making the series an exciting contest for fans and bettors alike.
Women ODI World Cup to be Hosted by India

For the fourth time, India will host the ODI World Cup for Women. The last time India hosted the global women's event was in 1978, 1997, and 2013. This is also the first time after the 2016 T20 World Cup that India will host any Women’s ICC Tournament. The country hosted both men's and women's international cricket events during that event.
Sri Lanka is presently at NZ Tour, where the first game was disrupted due to rains.
