After recording some famous victories as well as running eventual winners Australia very close during the ODI World Cup last October and November, the fact that Afghanistan have already sealed the series ahead of this final game should come as no surprise. They have been better in all disciplines and they now have the opportunity to put themselves forward as one of the major players ahead of next year's ICC Champions Trophy.
In Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Rashid Khan, Afghanistan have two players still young in years but with plenty of experience and both delivering world class performances on a regular basis.
If South Africa are to prevent a 3-0 defeat then they need the likes of Temba Bavuma, Aiden Markram and Lungi Ngidi to step up and deliver in this match on Sunday.

After such a convincing win on Wednesday, it was no surprise to see Hashmatullah Shahidi announce the same XI for Afghanistan ahead of Friday's second ODI and, with no injuries reported in the camp, we expect no changes once again for this third and final ODI on Sunday.
There were brilliant innings from Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rahmat Shah and Azmatullah Omarzai in the second ODI as the batters were able to express themselves batting first. As has been clear for a long time, Afghanistan will come into this final ODI with plenty of experienced and high quality batters in their line-up.
Many high quality batters have struggled against Rashid Khan over the years and he comes into this match on Sunday back to his best in white ball cricket after taking 5/19 from his nine overs on Wednesday.

After missing the opening game defeat, captain Temba Bavuma returned to the side and slotted in at the top of the order alongside Tony de Zorzi. We expect that pairing to continue into this match after they both hit scores of 30+ and put on 73 for the opening wicket. But the rest of the batting was a complete disappointment for the second successive game with only Reeza Hendricks at three and Aiden Markram at four making double figures.
South Africa must find a way for their middle-order to contribute not only runs but also to spend time at the crease in this game or once again we may well see their card go from 73/0 to 134 all out!
With the ball, Bjorn Fotuin has been economical throughout this series and we expect him to get plenty of turn again. Nandre Burger's role as a strike-bowler remains safe but he needs to start picking up more wickets as opposed to constantly leaking runs.
Temmba Bavuma (c), Tony de Zorzi, Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, Tristan Stubbs, Kyle Verreynne (wk), Wiaan Mulder, Bjorn Fortuin, Nqabayomzi Peter, Nandre Burger, Lungi Ngidi

The conditions on Sunday will be very similar to what we saw on Friday and Wednesday in the opening two matches of the series. That means the temperature no lower than 33 degrees throughout the day-night contest with humidity levels just under 50% from start to finish.

High TurnIrrespective of what this pitch delivers, it is South Africa who have proved to be short of the ideas or ability to play on it with Afghanistan the absolute experts! We predict that the surface will turn throughout this ODI but the bounce will be true. Whoever bats first will need to post at least 250 to be in the game.
Both teams have won one of the two tosses so far in the series with the skippers on both sides electing to bat first on each occasion. Once again, we expect both captains to choose to bat first if they call correctly at the toss.
The difference between the sides has been far greater than expected ahead of the series and Afghanistan will come into this final ODI with their confidence levels sky-high! With all aspects of South Africa's play way behind Afghanistan's we are predicting another comfortable win for Afghanistan in Sharjah.
We are backing Afghanistan to win!
