The two in-form sides in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is set to go toe-to-toe as Rajasthan Royals (RR) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in the second match of Super Saturday on April 25 April from 7:30 p.m local time.
The hosts Rajasthan Royals started their season with a win in all of their opening four games. They suffered a wide out of the mark defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and returned to winning ways in a low scoring match vs LSG, where they successfully defended 159.
SRH have also got off to a good start after a decent campaign last year in 2025. They started the season with 1 win in four matches, but now are on a winning run in the last three matches, accumulating 8 points at a net run rate of +0.820 from 4 wins and 3 losses.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have always had a good record over the Rajasthan Royals. Since SRH joined the Indian Premier League in 2013, there have been 22 matches played between the two teams and the Orange Army have won 13 matches while RR have won 9 games. SRH also dominate in the last 10 games, with 7 wins to Royals’ 3 wins.

The Rajasthan Royals fans can definitely dream of their 2nd IPL trophy after more than a decade gap since the inaugural season in 2008. The Royals are off to a fantastic start with 5 wins in 7 games and 2 defeats. They started the season with four back-to-back wins followed by two defeats against SRH and KKR but returned to winning ways in the last one against Lucknow Super Giants.
RR played back-to-back low scoring games in which they suffered defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens but were victorious vs LSG at Ekana. The Royals were teetering at 77/5 in 10 overs from which they scored 159 runs thanks to a brilliant knock of 43 runs from returning Ravindra Jadeja lower down the order.
While bowling 2nd in a low scoring game, what was really important was to put the opposition into pressure early on, just what Rajasthan Royals bowlers did. They got the LSG top three out within the first three overs and eventually bowled them out for 119 runs to secure a 40 runs victory. Jofra Archer bagged three while both Nandre Burger and Brijesh Sharma got 2 apiece.
The Royals have performed well with both bat and ball. The batting has looked one of the best of the season when their opening duo of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal perform well, allowing RR to consistently score 200.
15-year-old Sooryavanshi has scored 254 runs in 7 innings at a strike rate of 220.87 and an average of 36.29. This season his best performance includes 78 off 26 balls at a strike rate of 300.00. However, after that, he has scored in single digits twice in the last three games including 46 off 28 balls vs KKR.
RR’s batting gets elevated to the next level when other opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal performs well. The star batter has scored 245 runs in 7 innings at a strike rate of 155.09 and average of 49.00. He would be eager to replicate the same form as last season when he scored 559 runs in IPL 2025.
Royals’ decision to promote wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel to number 3 has worked a treat as the India international has scored 181 runs in 7 innings, although he has failed in the last three games. But this decision has backfired for new RR skipper Riyan Parag who has scored 80 runs in 7 innings, struggling badly.
With the ball, pace and spin bowling department have equally contributed to the side’s success. Pace bowler Jofra Archer and local Rajasthani spin bowler Ravi Bishnoi have both taken 11 wickets each. Archer has been impacting every game with his fiery pace bowling, grabbing 3/20 vs LSG.
Then there is Nandre Burger and Ravindra Jadeja who have both played a great supporting role. Burger with his line and length and top quality left-arm seam bowling has taken 8 wickets Ravindra Jadeja has taken 6 wickets.
Brijesh Sharma meanwhile is enjoying a breakthrough season, getting gametime ahead of the experienced Sandeep Sharma and he has delivered well, taking 5 wickets.
Rajasthan Royals Total 6's Over 10.5 @ 2.00
Rajasthan Royals are averaging 8 sixes per match this season. They are a good six hitting side with power packed top five, who can clear the ropes with ease. At Sawai Mansingh Stadium in the last five IPL matches the Royals are averaging close to 12 sixes per match.
Yashasvi Jaiswal: Total Fours Over 3.5 @ 2.10
Yashasvi Jaiswal has hit a total of 27 fours in 7 matches this season, averaging 3.85 fours per match and clearing this line in 4 of his 7 appearances. At Sawai Mansingh Stadium he is averaging 4.6 fours per match, underlining his comfort and dominance at his home ground. He missed out in the last meeting against SRH, scoring fewer than 10 runs, and will be highly motivated to make an impact with the bat in today's rematch.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag, Shimron Hetmyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Donovan Ferreira, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Brijesh Sharma, Ravi Bishnoi. Impact Player: Yash Raj Punja.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are on a red hot form in the recent games. The Orange Army began their campaign with just a single win in their opening four matches, that was against Kolkata Knight Riders. But in the last three matches, the Ishan Kishan led side has turned things around, winning the last three matches against RR, CSK and Delhi Capitals.
In their victory over the Delhi Capitals, they once again displayed their batting might with Abhishek Sharma leading from the front. He scored 135 runs off 68 balls at a strike rate of 198.53 to allow SRH to put 242 runs on the board. Then Eshan Malinga and Harsh Dubey combined well with 4 & 3 wickets each to restrict DC for 195/9 to secure a 47 runs victory.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batting has been the true force behind all of SRH’s success in recent years and this year, that is once again on display as both Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen are among the top run scorers in IPL 2026 season. While Abhishek has scored 323 runs at a strike rate of 215.33, Klaasen has scored 320 striking at 153.11.
Captain Ishan Kishan has scored 238 runs in 7 innings at a strike rate of 188.89 and his best performance this season, 91 runs off 44 balls, came against Rajasthan Royals itself. While Abhishek’s opening partner Travis Head has scored 180 runs, that is well below his standard and the Orange Army would be hoping that the Aussie is back to his best.
Bowling was the biggest weak link for the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the start of the season. Main pace bowler and captain Pat Cummins was ruled out for the initial games due to injury. But the good news heading into this game is that Cummins is set to be back for the game and might as well lead the team.
In his absence, Sri Lankan pacer Eshan Malinga is the top wicket-taker for the team with 12 scalps to his name. With his clever bowling, Malinga has bagged 3/29 vs CSK and 4/32 vs DC in the last two matches.
The emergence of the pace bowling duo of Sakib Hussain and Praful Hinge has served them well. Sakib got 6 wickets in three matches while Praful Hinge made an unforgettable debut, taking 3 wickets in his first IPL over vs Rajasthan Royals itself, taking 4/34 in that game.
Another debutant who has grabbed his opportunities well is Shivang Kumar. The left-arm chinaman bowler has 5 wickets in 6 matches.
Abhishek Sharma: Total Sixes Over 1.5 @ 2.00
Abhishek Sharma is currently second in the Orange Cap race with 323 runs in 7 matches this season, having smashed a total of 27 sixes at an average of 3.85 sixes per match, making him the leading six-hitter in IPL 2026. Given his extraordinary current form and his ability to clear the ropes against any bowling attack, backing Sharma to hit at least two sixes in today's match is an outstanding value
Heinrich Klaasen: Total Runs Over 24.5 @ 1.85
Heinrich Klaasen has scored past 30 runs in every match he has played this season and is third in the leading run-scorer list with 320 runs in 7 matches, averaging 53.33. His consistency is extraordinary for a middle-order batter and his ability to handle any bowling attack, including spin on a slowing Jaipur surface, makes the over 24.5 runs line a high-probability outcome at an attractive price.

This will be the first match at the venue in IPL 2026. The pitch at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur for T20 cricket is generally balanced but leans towards batting as the game progresses. It offers good pace and bounce early on, helping pacers get some movement with the new ball, while batters can play their shots freely on the true surface and quick outfield.
Spinners find decent grip and turn in the middle overs, especially with the longer square boundaries putting pressure on scoring. There have been 65 T20 matches played at the venue and the first innings average score here is 166.

Pat Cummins is also set to return. RR rely on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal to score majority of the runs, but have lost momentum in recent games.
