It's time for the IPL 2026 Eliminator clash as the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium in Mullanpur on May 27, Wednesday from 7:30 p.m. local time.
The IPL 2026 playoffs race went down to the final day of the league phase. Sunrisers Hyderabad booked 3rd place with a 55 runs victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru while Rajasthan Royals fought out a thrilling victory against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede on the final day to secure the 4th spot in the playoffs.
SRH is a batting heavy side who rely on their destructive batters like Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich with Eshan Malinga as their top bowler.
On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi does the heavy-lifting with the bat for RR with decent contributions from Dhruv Jurel, Donovan Ferreira. Jofra Archer has been menacing with pace bowling partnered by Nandre Burger, Brijesh Sharma with spin bowling quality in display from the likes of Bishnoi, Jadeja and Punja.
This season, the two sides faced-off twice and Sunrisers Hyderabad won both the matches comfortably. With those two wins, the Orange Army further extended their overall head-to-head record against RR to 14 wins in 23 matches and 9 wins for the Royals.

Despite being led by two different captains this season - Ishan Kishan and Pat Cummins - Sunrisers Hyderabad have maintained a top level performance throughout the campaign to seal a 3rd place finish with 9 wins and 5 losses.
They had a rough start to the campaign winning only once in their opening four games. But in the following 10 games, the Orange Army won 8 matches and suffered only two defeats that paved their way into this eliminator clash.
They ended the league phase on a high note, beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 55 runs in their last league phase match. SRH scored 255 runs thanks to half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich. Later, they restricted RCB for 200 runs with Eshan Malinga taking 2 wickets.
For SRH to progress further into the competition, they would once again rely on their destructive batting line-up. SRH’s batting prowess is highlighted by the fact that three different batters for them crossed the 500 runs mark. Heinrich Klaasen is the top run scorer with 606 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 159.47 and average of 50.50. He has played some spectacular knocks this season but 65 off 30 balls vs MI would be one of the most standout ones.
Top-order batters Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma are the other two batters who have scored more than 500 runs. Ishan has scored 569 runs while Abhishek has smashed 563 runs.
Abhishek has maintained his previous two seasons performance level this season as well, scoring 563 runs at a strike rate of 206.23. His performance of 135* off 68 balls vs Delhi Capitals is one of the best individual performances in the competition's history. His opening partner Travis Head has scored 393 runs at a strike rate of 168.67, maintaining their position as one of the most lethal opening pairs in IPL currently.
Ishan Kishan was the stand-in captain for the team in the first half of the tournament and delivered brilliantly with the bat. The Bihar born batter has scored 569 runs at a strike rate of 178.37 including his highest score of 91 vs RR and 79 runs vs RCB in the last game.
With the ball, Sri Lankan medium pacer Eshan Malinga is the top wicket-taker with 19 wickets for the Orange Army. He has taken wickets consistently this season, going wicketless only in four games while his best figure is 4/32 vs DC.
The introduction of the duo Sakib Hussain and Praful Hinge has worked well. SRH initially struggled to take wickets in the opening few games, but both Hinge and Sakib made a mark on their debut game itself, taking 4 wickets vs Rajasthan Royals. Although Hinge has only played 6 games because of the introduction of Pat Cummins, he has taken 11 wickets while Sakib Hussain has maintained his place in the XI, taking 15 wickets in 10 matches.
Regular captain Pat Cummins missed the starting 7 matches as he was recovering from injury. He has returned with 8 wickets in 7 games, including that spectacular 3/28 vs CSK in the 2nd last league stage game. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has taken 7 wickets while spin bowling duo Shivang Kumar and Harsh Dubey have both taken 8 wickets each.
Ishan Kishan Total 4's Over 2.5 @ 1.85
Ishan Kishan has been in superb touch this season, hitting 57 fours in 14 matches at an average of more than four boundaries per game. Against RR, his record is even better with 60 fours in 15 matches, averaging five fours per innings. His attacking style in the powerplay makes Ishan Kishan to hit over 2.5 fours a very strong pick for this clash.
Heinrich Klaasen Total 6's Over 1.5 @ 1.87
Heinrich Klaasen has been one of the cleanest six-hitters this season, smashing 30 sixes in 14 matches at an average of over two per game. Against RR, he has cleared the ropes 14 times in seven matches, maintaining the same rate. With his current form and ability against spin and pace alike, We back Klaasen to hit over 1.5 sixes against the Royals.
Ishan Kishan Total Runs Over 27.5 @ 1.85
Ishan Kishan has enjoyed an excellent season with 569 runs in 14 matches and looks well placed for another strong outing against RR. He averages 46.42 against the Royals with a strike rate above 163, including scores of 74 and 91 in recent meetings. With his aggressive approach and favourable matchups, We back Kishan to score over 27.5 runs against the Royals.
Heinrich Klaasen Total Runs Over 27.5 @ 1.85
Heinrich Klaasen has been SRH’s standout batter this season with 606 runs in 14 matches, making him the team’s highest run scorer and the third-highest overall. His consistency has been exceptional, with no single-digit dismissals and multiple impactful knocks. Against RR, he averages 37.83 at a strike rate of 166.92.

Rajasthan Royals had to dig deep and win their last league phase match against Mumbai Indians to book their place in this eliminator clash. The Royals had an up and down season but eventually finished with 8 wins and 6 losses for the Riyan Parag led side.
Rajasthan Royals had a pretty mixed form in the tournament this season and couldn't manage a strong run. In-fact, the most successful winning run for RR this season was a 4 game winning streak, which happens to be their opening four games of the season.
After losing three games on the bounce towards the back end of the season, RR needed to win their last two games to qualify and they just did that with wins against LSG and MI.
Young superstar batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has shown to the world he ain't a one season wonder and carried on his brilliant display, taking on the bowlers with fearless approach. He has scored 583 runs in 14 innings at a strike rate of 232.27. He scored three half-centuries and a brilliant knock of 103 off 37 balls vs SRH.
His opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored 397 runs at a strike rate of 159.44. These two batters have performed really well for Rajasthan Royals and have been the main reasons behind RR’s strong performances this season.
Other than the two, wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has made the most of the opportunity given to him with a promotion to 3rd in the batting order. The 25-year-old batter has scored 458 runs so far in 14 innings at a strike rate of 149.67. His best performance of the season came in the 4th match of the season when he scored 81 unbeaten off 43 balls vs RCB.
Some other notable batting performances came from South African Donovan Ferreira who scored 267 runs while returning Ravindra Jadeja has scored 208 runs. Captain Riyan Parag has scored 271 runs, but he has been struggling all season long as justified by his average of 24.64 this season. His best score this season is 90 off 50 balls in the 3rd last league phase game for RR.
With the ball, Jofra Archer has been in stunning form all season long. The English pacer has been lethal for RR throughout his career since 2018. This season itself, the Barbados born ace has taken 21 wickets in 14 matches, consistently giving his team early breakthroughs in the powerplay. He has two 3-fers this season including an outstanding 3/17 vs MI in the last game that helped Rajasthan Royals to qualify for the playoffs.
To partner him, South African pacer Nandre Burger has taken 11 wickets, uncapped Indian pacer Brijesh Sharma’s has been impactful enough to displace Sandeep Sharma in the playing XI, taking 13 wickets.
The spin bowling trio of Ravi Bishnoi, Ravindra Jadeja and Yash Raj Punja have done really well for the pink city based franchise. Bishnoi, making his debut for his home side, has taken 11 wickets while Ravindra Jadeja making his return to the team after last playing for them in 2009, has bagged 8 wickets. Debutant Yash Raj has been pretty impressive too with 8 wickets in 6 matches.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Total Runs Over 26.5 @ 1.85
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been Rajasthan Royals’ leading run-scorer this season with 583 runs in 14 matches at a stunning strike rate of 232.37. Apart from the last game against MI, he has consistently provided explosive starts, including scores of 93, 103 and 46 in recent outings. He already has a 43-run knock at Mullanpur and smashed SRH for a century earlier this season. Back Sooryavanshi to score over 26.5 runs.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Riyan Parag (C), Donovan Ferreira, Dasun Shanaka, Shubham Dubey, Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, Yash Raj Punja, Brijesh Sharma. Impact Player: Ravindra Jadeja.

The pitch at Mullanpur is generally balanced and lively. It usually comes with a good covering of grass, offering excellent pace, bounce, and carry early on, which helps pacers get seam movement and extra zip in the powerplay. As the match progresses, the surface settles down nicely and becomes good for batting, allowing stroke-makers to accelerate on the quick outfield. Spinners get some grip and turn in the middle overs. The venue was Punjab Kings’ home venue for 4 matches in IPL 2026 in which the average first inning score is 214.
Sunrisers Hyderabad to win the coin toss @ 1.90
We back Sunrisers Hyderabad to win the coin toss in today's match against Rajasthan Royals.
The captain who wins the toss, expect them to bowl first. This is a proper belter for batting that continues to get better as the game goes on. The probability of dew in the 2nd inning further swings the game in favour of the chasing team. This season in IPL 2026, in 4 games, 3 matches have been won by the bowling first side.
Rajasthan Royals are slight favorites to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in this IPL 2026 Eliminator. RR come into the knockout battle with huge momentum after a thrilling win over MI to qualify. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (583 runs, SR 232) and Yashasvi Jaiswal provide explosive starts, while Jofra Archer (21 wickets) leads a dangerous pace attack supported by Nandre Burger while Ravi Bishnoi and Jadeja pose spin bowling threat. SRH depends way too much on their star batters like Abhishek, Head, Ishan and Klaasen to majority of their runs. If RR bowlers manage to get them out cheaply, this should be a job very well done.
