Tasmania suffered a huge loss in their last match against Victoria, falling by 70 runs at Bellerive Oval.
Their bowling unit showed flashes of brilliance, particularly Riley Meredith, who claimed four wickets in the first innings, and Gabe Bell, who picked up three in the second to keep Victoria’s lead within reach.
Jackson Bird and Beau Webster also contributed significantly, with Webster taking five wickets across the match to restrict the visitors.
However, the batting struggled to find consistency. A disappointing first-innings collapse saw the team bundled out for just 91, with Matthew Kuhnemann’s 23 being the top score.
Chasing a daunting 325 in the final innings, Tim Ward showed great fight with a gritty 66, and Caleb Jewell added 47, but the middle order failed to sustain the momentum.
Despite late resistance from Webster and Meredith, the side was eventually dismissed for 254, unable to overcome Victoria's relentless bowling pressure.

Western Australia secured a much-needed draw which keeps their season alive after a hard-fought battle at Allan Border Field.
Their batting was spearheaded by a standout performance from Sam Fanning, who earned Player of the Match honors for his impressive 62 and 87.
Cameron Bancroft provided stability at the top with a gritty 72 in the second innings, while Joel Paris and Josh Inglis contributed vital runs to help post a competitive target.
The bowling attack was equally relentless, led by Cameron Gannon and Albert Esterhuysen. Gannon was exceptional, picking up three wickets in each innings, while Esterhuysen tore through the Queensland middle order with a superb 4 for 37 in the first outing.
In the final session, Western Australia came agonizingly close to a victory, reducing the hosts to 44/6 thanks to a clinical opening spell from Joel Paris. Although they couldn't find the final four wickets, the all-round effort ensured they remain in the hunt for the finals.
